Please do not hurt yourself. You are irreplaceable.

I finished most of mine last night, I think. My brain’s kind of numb.

But what the CEO and his company did was just a ‘business decision,’ not technically murder. So it was ok, right?

I’d be very much in favor of rebuilding the corporate world so that it’s centered around social and environmental good rather than profits for the few.

Even if you’ve only created it in your mind so far and no one’s seen it, it’s still a creation. Which makes you a creator.

Changing from abstract to non-abstract to make some playtesters more comfortable would make it an entirely different game. Are you open to trying that out, or it too much of a stretch from the game you’re passionate about?

And of course changes you make could be much less drastic than that.

I still write it down and think about it afterwards. While I’m focused on my target audience, a lot of them could end up playing the game with friends and family members who are outside of my focus area. I have to decide whether making my game sharable with a wider group is worth any change.

The members of a cult often have no clue what’s really going on.

Thanks for engaging in this discussion. I think we each know where the other’s coming from and we’re not going to change each other’s minds. Your role is to stand guard against any seeming BS, and that’s needed. Call it a night?

I’ve watched people change over time. Even if it starts in bigotry, personal experiences can make a difference. I’ve seen some begin to question their own views in a day, and others take years to shift. If someone’s curious enough to step over the line, I’m willing to help them open their eyes.

I play pool with people who voted red across the ballot. Most of them will be shocked when their Black, Hispanic, Asian, Native, female, and liberal team members suddenly disappear. They really just don’t understand.

Can be, but fear of capital gains tax, fear of having guns taken away, fear of terrorism, fear of having kids taught counter to church teachings, fear of U.S. tax money all going overseas- all of that can be experienced without the addition of -isms.

I’ve had so many conversations about the right to life needing to include the right to health, education, safety, food security, ending wars and the death penalty - all the things that make up life. They don’t see it.

See, that’s the thing. You and I have a much more holistic view of what these things mean. We know that a ban on abortion is part of systemic misogynism. People I know think it’s ONLY about protecting the unborn. Their focal point doesn’t even see the effect on women more broadly.

It isn’t always the -isms that drew them into that fold. Some are one-issue voters, like some of my family members and abortion. One guy I know said he had to protect himself from the capital gains tax (he’ll never come close to making enough to really worry about that). Others buy into other fears.

It’s not by watching Trump himself. As you say, he hasn’t changed. It’s by seeing those they care about get hit by the repercussions of voting him in. That’s something they never expected to happen. And I’m not saying all of them will wake up. Many will find ways to keep excusing him.

I have a bent metal straw I can put in my 40oz water bottle that works great with the SIP. I just carry a ziplock bag with a paper towel in it with me to put the straw in when I’m on the move and want to close the bottle.

I get all that. And safety for the most vulnerable is crucial. Yet sometimes the most charged up about something are those who learn they’ve been misled all along. There has to be a place for them to contribute to making things better. Properly vetting them will be essential.

N95 with sip valve was something I just discovered this summer. It’s a beautiful combo.

And I still find them complicit in all that may come from that. I also hold out the possibility that if something hits them close enough, they may come to see things more clearly. And then I want to help them find their way to the resistance.

It’s very simple for a lot of us to see who Trump is and has always been. For those who knew that and voted for him anyway, I give no wiggle room.

I’ve looked at the people who have been seduced and gaslit to the dark side over the last 60+ years. Ignorant, lazy, overwhelmed - yes. But not evil.

I’m seeing more and more people that were taken in by disinformation campaigns and did not in fact know exactly what they were voting for. I’d rather they learn now and maybe find more reputable sources of information than condemn them to the miserable fate so many may suffer.

In Maryland all-season radials are the standard tire for all-year driving. They handle snow, mud, and rain just fine, and do well on dry roads as well without decreasing your gas mileage the way snow tires do.

Decades ago, we used snow tires in the winter, and I had studs once on a car from NY.

I don’t so much care about it for now, as I’m actively supporting new folks with common interests by following them. I won’t be able to keep up with everyone though. My choices at some point will be to purposely go look at people’s feeds or weed down to some reasonable level.

I’m doing that with one of my 🎲✂️ designs. Staying mostly true to the simulation perspective, while adding a few less serious aspects to make the mechanics work more smoothly at various levels.

Many of us are going to be visiting with family or longtime friends this week. If for any reason you start feeling “less than,” take a moment off by yourself. Who are you comparing yourself to? Did someone you’re with say something that triggered this feeling? Recenter yourself in your best self.

Maybe also look for others who can take on saying what you can’t right now and partner with them to get the whole story out. It doesn’t have to all be on you.

If each investigative reporter has their own beat, it makes sense that they’d know everything they worked to uncover. But other reporters would only catch glimpses of that as they try to figure out how their own information connects to give a more holistic picture.

Was writing today about the limiting belief of thinking you can’t afford something. Whether money or time, I find it more empowering to decide what you want to prioritize, and then find ways to make that work. This can be a powerful practice even if the economy gets turned upside down.
