On it!

Well, yes. I’m a bartender, and I’m gently working to introduce my customers and my co-workers to better ideas all the time. So, how about you?
Wrong question. The correct question is “are you talking to your peers and trying to correct them?”
And some of you aren’t.
I am writing up an Aperol Spritz while you are gone. You should drink several of them while on vacation, so you can validate my recipe.
Difficult, seeing as I’m in Cleveland.
Maybe a solid cocoa liqueur, or bittersweet chocolate shavings if we want the aroma instead of the flavor.
Nice!
Banana, coffee, cocoa, dark rum poured over crushed ice as a tiki drink.
Honestly, you should just omit it.
You are entitled to your opinion, even if it is wrong. ;)
My pleasure, Dr. Wade! I love recommending books about the history of booze of all stripes.
Any Aperol Spritz fans out there? They’re pretty but way too sweet for my palate. Aperol’s website has them at a 3:2 ratio of Aperol to champagne; I tasted that and immediately flipped it to 2:3. Any ideas on how to elevate this sugar bomb?
Shopping the ingredients for a raspberry shrub for this week’s cocktail. Reading the news, gritting my teeth. Trying to escape the feeling I’m bartending on the deck of the Titanic.
Swap in a nice unaged rum like Planteray 3 Star for the vodka next time, but this is pretty damn good.
I’ve done a smidge of research on the claim. Some said that Kate Moss was the supermodel, and she was underage at the time. Further research says that Kate Moss was 12 when the cocktail was created, so this is extremely unlikely. Still looking for the model. Bradsell took the name to his grave.
My current: 1/2 oz. Cocci Americano, 3 1/2 Boodles, 1 shake orange bitters, a bar spoon of Cointreau with a twist. Not precisely classic, but really good.
Workshopping a dirty martini for this weeks article. Last attempt was 1 1/2 oz olive brine, 5 muddled olives, 2 1/2 oz Tito’s. Color is wonderful, but unbearably salty and much olive flavor. Scaling it down to 1 oz brine, 3 olives, and olive oil infused vodka. How do you like your dirty martini?
In which case, salud!
Liquor has no gender. Everyone enjoy happily.
Love me a classic Sharkbite.
Not this brand, but I have tried other bottled cocktails and enjoyed them. Ohio’s liquor board is terribly restrictive, so it’s hard to explore some of the more interesting stuff.
Neat vodka? My good man, there’s a thing called flavor, you should experience it sometime
Try it.
It’s the cream that makes it muddy. Cut that and you’ll have something the color of a porn star martini. Actually, take the porn star martini as your inspiration here; cut out some of the superfluous touches like the rosemary and strawberry and serve it with a shot of sparkling juice on the side.
Bitters are at least 100 proof, but so little gets used in a drink that you can get away with a dash in an NA cocktail.
