SCOTUS is currently considering requiring mail in ballots to arrive by election day. This may become a moot point.

Boy am I happy that I haven't had time to plant my tomato seedlings yet....
Policy makers getting around the same way as their public is an underrated good. I'd love to see @janeese4dc.bsky.social and @kenyanmcduffie.bsky.social agree to commute to the Wilson building via public transit (which serves it well) rather than a big suburban suv.
Hey @wmatagm.bsky.social & @wmata.com these info signs on the bus make the bus so much easier to use. When will they be rolled out fleet wide?
I'm curious what this provoked for you? To me, it reads like a scold that the real solution is people changing their mindset. Scolds of this nature are truly in abundace in our internet era.
Abundance isn't a silver bullet, but this doesn't appear to layout any new ideas for making things better.
Perhaps a reporter such as @maustermuhle.bsky.social?
Just like Bowser to take a flagship DC law that makes DC a great place to live and try to kill it to cut taxes....thankfully she's about to be gone.
The question is does @kenyanmcduffie.bsky.social support Bowser here? I think @janeese4dc.bsky.social 's position is pretty predictable here....
This is damn stupid. The tickets should be the normal price and come with incentives, like priority entrance. This will just create further congestion on the roads.
Seems like a real desperate play and likely to backfire. Especially since the 67 pages basically show that @robertwhitedc.bsky.social is a fairly boring guy.
I was actually consdering her for the race because the position is powerless and I appreciated her energy, but this was reckless.
I'd hope that @maustermuhle.bsky.social is familiar enough with that gadfly and his 5 friends to not cite them as a "group"
A group? Who is said group?
I'd love to see your detailed take of the at large elections if you have one.
Bowser had lots of failures, but McDuffie won't even try...
Amazing, maybe we'll get elevator reform too. Pair those with city wide quadplexes and you'll have a housing revolution.
Every mayoral and council candidate should be asked to take a position on this matter. Will you let key real estate be used as a storage lot for cars or will you uphold that it must be used for people?

Half of DC kids using android phones still can't use their phones for KRF
The difference is that we're not fighting a war in Iran the way Russia is fighting Ukrainian. I imagine a full US invasion would be "successful" similarly to Iraq, but American politicians are not willing to commit (at this moment). The PRC is unlikely to face that concern.
Is anyone pushing back against it in an organized manner?
Except wouldn't the DC democratic party leadership get to replace him, and they've typically chosen meh candidates?
The liberal establishment getting on board with congestion pricing is a big deal. Hopefully this can help push it forward in other major cities.
May not be possible due to trump, but it'd be best to avoid partisanship, as yimby mostly managed to do. All cities can benefit from less traffic.
I too would like this but we won't get there by hoping. Just like laws for regular people, there should be an enforcement mechanism.
If the mayor knowingly ignores a requirement, they should be personally liable for fines that the Council can sue to implement or something of that nature.
If they'll work to allow more mixed use mixed use residental/commercial zones so that there can be more local eateries across the city.
It sounds like there is something that @mayorbowser.dc.gov could have done but she just prefers to be compliant...thankfully @waba.org stood up for DC residents (and visitors!)
Imagine if America let those 44% live in a dense city as they wished. There would be more room for the other 55 percent to isolate. Could be a win win.
Can you clarify what you mean by a plan that meets the moment? Will you push for allowing duplex/triplexes everywhere in the city?
Don't live in ward 1, but if I did, this would be a strong reason to vote for @aparnafordc.bsky.social
This map is a sad excuse for a "future" land use map. It's more like a "this is what we already do map"
Hopefully the next mayor will have enough time to clean shop in the Office of Planning and revise the FLUM to actually represent the city's growth needs.
That a gadfly candidate like Gurley manages to repeatedly make it on the ballot makes me wonder if the signature threshold is set too low.
