Remember Philando Castile? Black people have been living with extra-judicial killings for a long time now. This might seem “new” if you’re white - but it’s not new.

Full disclosure - I went through this training in Minnesota a few years ago. It was due to two friends (women) involved in car jackings. I ended up deciding against having a gun - it didn’t fit who I am - but I think it’s important to know thugs aren’t
getting these permits.

FYI. To get a concealed carry permit in Minnesota you have to go through a license procedure that includes bg check, class time, and shooting training. It’s not like other states where you buy a gun and can just carry it.

The Boston Massacre | March 5, 1770 | HISTORY On the cold, snowy night of March 5, 1770, a mob of American colonists gathers at the Customs House in Boston and beg...

Vance claims there’s something weird about us here in Minnesota. Let them try this shit on other cities - like Boston. We know how that went.

250 years later. Same battle. Different despot.

The irony in all of this? It’s the right going after 2A. They started with 1 then went after 4. 2A is the natural next amendment an autocracy goes after.

May every woman being assaulted by small men have an Alex Pretti watching out for them.

Île de Phoques is a granite island off the coast of Tasmania. This had to be one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. It’s a seal sanctuary and the granite colors are amazing!

The fast left as soon as light turns green! That’s a classic. Not sure how you could make a sign of this - but if lane markers are worn/not easy to see, if you can fit, it’s a lane.

Living the French Revolution and the Age of Napoleon Check out this great listen on Audible.com. The 25 years between the onset of the French Revolution in 1789 and the Bourbon Restoration after Napoleon in 1814 is an astonishing period in world history...

So relevant today, and so well done. I’ve listened to it twice (24 h) - HIGHLY recommend.

You could make a drinking game out of how many times someone says “calm down” on the series From.

The right controls the media - any narrative suggesting otherwise is false. But now it’s the common tongue, a way to undermine anything true. So many people have been duped. How do we begin to tempt them back to truth when the lies have been fed to them like candy?

My first binge read - George Eliot - obsessed at 13 yo.

Vonnegut
Faulkner
Michael Connelly
Stephen King
Carl Hiassen
Marquez

Lots of series by various authors (vampires, ok I admit it)

This is hard - I was more a binge author reader in my teens and twenties so I have to really think back far!
