Eagerly awaiting my author copy to arrive! Publications never feel official (to me) until you have the physical copy in your hands. This book gave me the (likely once-in-a-lifetime) opportunity to write about an extremely niche 16mm trade association that existed from 1939 to 1949. 😜

Very sad to hear the news about Teresa de Lauretis. I sat on many dissertation committees with her at @ucsantacruz.bsky.social and she was a *force*!! Direct, blunt, unsmiling — and always brilliant. Pushed her students to do their absolute best. RIP

I'm working on a resources page for our website to help scholars find homes for their op-eds, guest blogs, and otherwise expertise.
If you run a site or podcast that regularly posts such things and would like us to share it as a potential place to pitch, please let me know!
FREE RESEARCH ARTICLE! Why did writers say Lara Croft was trans? What was her actual relationship to the “male gamer”? Look out for a guest appearance by Mario, and for the author’s own trans memories from the y2k era.

Congratulations @jacobengelberg.bsky.social & @ffreibert.bsky.social!
I can’t wait to read this!
SCMS joins the field in mourning the loss of Ina Rae Hark, Distinguished Professor Emerita at the University of South Carolina and a pioneering scholar of film and media studies.
I don’t think enough cis people—unless they’re parenting a trans child—realize how deep and wide the defunding of trans healthcare has gotten in 6 months, and how deadly it is.
The type-set pages are in now for 'Screening Adult Cinema' edited by @ffreibert.bsky.social Peter Alilunas, and Des Embree. My own 'Boys in the Sand' (1971) is one of the 39 chapters in the book. More on the forthcoming book and chapters can be found here: www.routledge.com/Screening-Ad...
I've got an article in this issue of The Velvet Light Trap that's based on the screen tourism research I was funded for a few years ago. So pleased to see it in print.

oh i see sorry for the redundant idea. perhaps you could put in your revision cover letter that that particular requested revision is addressed in a citation that had to be redacted for peer review, or if that's not ideal email one of the journal's editors for advice :)
i consider blind important, so i always save the original and then submit an "anonymous" copy with redacted identifying references in text or in the bib. at the point where I delete it in-text i put something in brackets like [sentence(s) omitted for blind peer-review] or something to that effect.
As #scms25 approaches (first of the post-twitter era!), feel free to follow this conference feed in Bluesky to track the discourse:
