If you could put a meter around the sun, we'd have everything solar powered by EOY.
*angry Clive Barker noises*
Remember what they took from us.

( #PopfulMail was a Sega CD game that I got to the last boss with, but couldn't quite beat. I sold my copy right before the pandemic started (still stings). Slayers vibe. Working Designs translated. Funny VA cast. Almost OVA'd.)
A Hard Reset, and What Comes Next Building on the internet in 2026 is different. We learned that the hard way. Today we're sharing difficult news: we've made the decision to significantly downsize the Digg team. This wasn't a decision made lightly, and it's important to say clearly: this is one of the strongest groups of people we've ever had the privilege of working with. This is not a reflection of their talent, their effort, or their belief in what we were building. It's a reflection of the brutal reality of finding product-market fit in an environment that has fundamentally changed. We faced an unprecedented bot problem

System was amazing on its own, but even more amazing b/c you could burn ROMs onto a cd and just play them straight from the Dreamcast without any added hardware/software mods.
Still upset I never beat Shenmue.
It doesn't make sense that we have so much old tech that can't be repurposed for efficient single use purposes (via custom OS/firmware additions/etc), does it?
Why does it need to end up in the landfill? Are there old Samsung Galaxy S3s out there still being used for something?
Another day another slay.

How about with hot sauce and hot dogs?
Sorry :-/
Wish they made them to hold up longer. Hope it's repairable!
Ahhhhhhhh that sucks. Hope a screen replacement fixes it and you don't need a whole new board.
Did you have a solid case around it, or are you living life on the edge?
It's tough for a modern phone to last that long with heavy use and without a solid case.
When you say "going bad," though, do you mean getting sluggish or physically breaking?
By "long ride" do you mean you want it for a long time, or for a physically long ride somewhere/lots of traveling?
Lots of modern smartphones would benefit from an Otterbox or similar. That type of case protected my phone models from high falls and falls down a huge set of concrete stairs.

- My kids, before 7 am, straight up tearing me apart before the coffee kicks in.
Sometimes I like something because I don't like it (or a large part of it), and I wonder if there's a word to express this feeling.
(If there is, I bet it's in German. I remember hearing they have a lot of specific words for that kind of stuff? Can any German speaking connections confirm?)
I have 96gb of RAM. Just drowning in memory. I have a smaller SSD so, for now, I begrudgingly choose to shut down or deal with the battery loss from sleep (gotta look into why that's happening still. Another time).
My SSD is too precious for me to fill it up with swap. Maybe if prices ever go down I'll get a bigger one. :-/
Hahaha, definitely been there!
Socks worn with thong sandals. Unholy combo.
Activating Dad Mode.
Barker really knows how to weave a story together (not a Weaveworld reference, at least not on purpose). I'm glad he has a couple of solid adaptations under his belt - I think horror fiction is probably one of the harder genres to adapt to film.
My backlog covers me through to the PS10, at least.
On the what now?
Bet it's at least 5.
Limmy's show. Still shot of Limmy's face, looking concerned and confused.
Finding an old email account and being hit with psychic damage on this fine Friday afternoon.
"It's all just bubbles, only fleeting fireworks"
I get it. I get it.
Fun backstory, too, if you like looking into that kind of thing.

I won't even need the Internet access if you load me up with old-school ROMs and all the RPGs made from SNES onwards.
One of my biggest regrets is selling my Sega CD before I beat that version of Popful Mail.
I got all the way to the last boss, too.
Loved that game, and pretty much everything Working Designs brought over here. Especially Lunar and Albert Odyssey.
