Finished the last school year with 34 students in band. Currently have 54 kids in it now.

At my last school, I grew the band from 11 to 19 kids in one year, and that’s with 3 kids quitting only because they didn’t like one of the newbies.

Old admin tried to paint me as a program killer. Nice try

Spring break hit and I’ve been averaging about 10 hours of sleep a night.

Am I exhausted? YEP. Am I loving being a teacher again and already have inside jokes with a new batch of kids? Yes.

Do I think about my old students every day?Absolutely.

Will it ever stop hurting? Probably not.

First day in a classroom as a teacher since April was yesterday and not a single kid asked me about my mask 🥳

I’ve been working in an office environment for the last few weeks and I wore my black CAN99 for the first week, an aura for the second week and now I’m fully just happily living life in my duckbill.

I eased them into my mask of choice and it’s been great lol

So far it’s still showing up but sometimes the audio glitches

TikTok without Americans is so quiet? My friends only page sucks, the FYP is super chill and my following page is showing me aussies I haven’t seen in years.

It’s very bizarre but if meta buys it I’m deleting the app.

I know a lot of my Covid cautious pals from TikTok are moving to Rednote because of the TT ban but I simply do not have the spoons for another app and it this means I’ll get off my phone more, I guess that’s a weird and sad win. I will miss you all so much and I’m glad we have this app at least 😭

They claim China is evil for doing this as if they haven’t been doing it all along too

One of my old students saw me post about it on my Snapchat story and is excited for me too I’m gonna cry 😭😭😭😭

The circumstances that led to me leaving the classroom have finally begun to recede and I have been offered my first teaching contract after being away for almost a year! It’s only 3 months for the end of the school year but I’ll be teaching music again and while I am TERRIFIED I am also SO EXCITED

The timing worked out for my search but I’ll be more vigilant for more links in the coming weeks!
