Dosidicus gigas (the Humboldt squid) is very closely related to TP, Herm, and Lynn’s species, but since they don’t glide Iota doesn’t look like the other three.
Fun fact: phylogenetically speaking, Iota is closer related to Toothpaste than she is her actual cousin (Herm).
Also yes when I talk about my flying squid characters I am also technically talking about Iota too except I’ve decided that Iota is actually excluded from all discussion due to her being Australian and I’ll be dragging her to hell myself after she dies
Very slight ref sheet tweaks for these three bc if I didn’t fix it now it would bother me forever. Literally just changing their face lineart color and being more specific about their species bc “flying squid” is incredibly vague.

You can do whatever though. I just personally use tabs for slightly less important characters that are related to others
You can go on the tab manager and make a new tab there. I’d probably use a “full tab” for a separate character that’s related to another
I’d probably put them as a tab on a character’s page if you don’t wanna commit to a full on profile
Also yeah Lynn can glow bc they’re a luminous flying squid and shit. Iirc all 3 of these guys are technically bioluminescent but so are most squid species to some extent so who cares.
I don’t know if this luminescence is too terribly relevant to anything, so it’s just an extra detail.
Tbh I want to redo Lynn’s ref really bad since it’s from January of this year. But I redo all my ref sheets at the same time and Lynn’s ref isn’t incorrect, the art is just old, so I will wait.
I still like this chart, but having it on their refs is just more convenient.
