In other words, I wonder if there was an option to drop price without removing any Day 1 games from GP.
My point is that dropping Day 1 games should have been the last/nuclear option. Not the first option they try.
Perhaps they considered it but it wasn’t possible financially, but we don’t know.

I agree the price drop benefits customers, particularly the ones that don’t care for COD (myself included).
But I’m looking at it from the perspective of game publishers and long term GP strategy. Content is king so MS wants to convince devs to launch on GP. It gets harder to convince devs now.
Xbox Game Pass rules changing so that new COD games aren’t on the subscription at launch is a terrible strategy.
It’s an admission that game pass loses money for big publishers at launch. And it’s a signal that gamers can’t expect new MS games to always be on the subscription on day 1

Wow, Tim Cook stepping down with succession plan safely in place.
Apple's iPhone, Watch, TV, and iPad lines are unrivalled. MacBook is getting a resurgence. Services like Apple TV+ are already known as HBO-level. Talk about retiring while on top. #apple #tech #aapl

A little marketing for Ambie’s Channels feature, which plays videos for visual white noise. Check out a preview of our latest content drop: m.youtube.com/watch?v=FSfs...
Get the full experience in Ambie!
ooh interesting!
Yeah, my team is in the midst of that right now. I'm trying to make sure everyone understands the code they are generating/proposing, but it feels like I'm trying to stop the flow of an entire river.
"There’s a cost that doesn’t show up in your velocity metrics when teams go deep on AI coding tools. This cost accumulates steadily, and eventually it has to be paid with interest. It’s called comprehension debt"
Accurately describes the new issues I see day-to-day.

That’s true, but who would’ve predicted that the US would launch a poorly planned war that would affect gas prices worldwide?
The temporary gas tax exemption seems like an understandable reaction to that.
Happened to discover this built-in macOS wallpaper and I think it's one of the best ones available. It has a day and night version.
Ambie on macOS is also starting to look real nice with this background + Liquid Glass effects.
Can't wait to show off the app once it's ready!
Playing around with macOS app development today. There are weird things about it, particularly around "native" macOS vs Mac Catalyst. But once you wrap your head around it, it's alright.
Could Ambie arrive on macOS soon? No it's still too far away, but we'll see what happens.
It was never free from the store.
From the dev's own FAQ: the store version is paid in case you want to support the developer. If you don't want to support them, then you can get it free from the website directly. www.getpaint.net
Love the show, keep it up!
There’s like 100k+
The Toyota CHR looked beautiful from the Vancouver Auto Show last week. Looking forward to test driving this soon.
It’s apparently going to be 45k starting price. Combined with the government rebate, you can get it for $40k.
Might just be one of the most affordable EVs available this year!
Learning and working with indigenous wisdom is genuinely so important here. They have so much knowledge of the land and water around us that all canadians can benefit from.
Hmm this is how the store has looked in at least the past year eh? Or was there something else you noticed?
Then we're on the same boat. I also have issues with the platform, though different from yours.
But blanket statements against *all uwp apps* does a disservice to indie devs trying to earn a living. Air your issues with the platform, but there're good uwp apps out there made by good indie devs
One of my OSS uwp apps (Ambie White Noise) has been used by over 70k users from the ms store and I'm earning decent monthly revenue from it. User satisfaction is high based on ratings + usage data.
uwp as a framework has issues yes, but a blanket statement against all uwp apps seems a bit extreme
Commercial and Venables is a great spot!
Extremely humbling to see that Ambie has eclipsed the 2000 ratings count internationally, and it's still at 4.8 stars.
In the past, there were people who scoffed and told me my app's high score was only due to a small sample size. But at 2k reviews, it's becoming clear that people love Ambie 🥳
In Vancouver and the rest of BC, this will the very last time we change clocks. Your state should do the same! www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Wow, Markerpad's monthly premium sales have caught up to Ambie's monthly sales. Ambie's revenue is still far outpacing it, but Markerpad is trending the right direction!
Seems like folks are liking the regular updates. I recently added Seyes lines to it! #buildinpublic #dotnet #csharp #edusky
Yesterday, I received a US patent award from Microsoft. I applied for a patent few years ago and it was granted by the US Patent office, and this plaque was sent by MS to commemorate the accomplishment. Never thought I'd be a patent inventor. Super cool 🙂 #microsoftlife
Have you tried installing it via the website? I believe it bypasses company policies. Like, click this download button directly from the website.
Only if you want to try, tho! I'm not pressuring you to install the app haha
You got me there 😂
here it is in white though!
Is this whiteboard app starting to look cool or what? I'm adding more and more features every few days, and people seem to be really enjoying the recent updates! #whiteboard #edusky #buildinpublic #dotnet #csharp
Windows Central wrote a little article about it!
Markerpad daily usage jumped 2x the past 24 hours! Very cool. Premium sales are also picking up steam. #buildinpublic #windowsapp #uwp #dotnet #csharp
