Hope you're well :D

How could they follow their favourite writers and artists if they're not credited?
Happy 79th birthday to Star Trek actor Iggy Pop.
Yeah you should probably write of the rest of the day. Hope it goes well though.
Back end of last year I started trying to write one pagers specifically to test individual mechanics, it's something I might look at reviving and start throwing out some of the ashcans for people to read.
"Here's Skaven for D&D 5e"
Why though?
WHFRP exists. There's a whole bunch of stuff in that setting that D&D simply doesn't model well. It's not heroic fantasy. It's about kicking a ratman to death in a Middenheim gutter, catching the plague and being buried in an unmarked grave.
From “The Simpsons” house genius John Swartzwelder, interviewed in The New Yorker by Mike Sacks
Too much of my desire to create is tied up the opinions of others, so I think I would simply go quite mad.
Comic. I’m at my desk, leaning over to the doorway, saying “Hey! Foghorn! Foghorn Leghorn! Get in here!” Foghorn Leghorn is walking past the doorway, “Boy, I tell ya, I tell ya, not so loud, boy. What, I say, I say, what d’ya want?” Next panel, I’m gesturing to my computer. “How do I find that really good manga you recommended? It’s an anime now? I keep getting Halloween costumes.” Foghorn leans over my chair, “well, boy, I say, I say, you ain’t typin the entire title.” Last panel, I turn around- “you said ‘witch hat.’ Foghorn gets in my face- “open your ears, boy!! ‘Witch Hat Atelier, I tell ya! I tell ya ‘Atelier,’ I tell ya’”
How I’ve Been Pronouncing It (Feat. Foghorn Leghorn, my… roommate?)
I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again

I'm really sorry to hear that 💚
Good to know, thanks
I need to try pineapple fried rice now
my wife is the ball and chain?
WRONG we're both the ball and chain and together we form an invincible bolas that will make you easy prey for our hunters
truly one of those rare talents of a generation. happy 80th, you sultry beast!
A screenshot from Windrose of a brig sailing under a setting sun. In the background a ketch can be seen in the haze of the sunset.
Anyway if youre a mutual playing Windrose hit me up and we can form a merry fleet together.
Overall it's pretty polished for an ealy access title and I've had a lot more fun with it after being in a bit of a gaming slump. So if you're interested in a crafty pirating game I'd say give it a go.
Boat combat is fun though a little shallow. There's no wind or weather (so far) but there are waves which mixes things up. I'd like to see a little more here, though it might not fit the arcadey vibe they're going for.
You will get to do a lot of stuff up to level 5-6, but ultimately the game will cap your progress with items and recipes until you advance the story. Also you only get xp from completing locations and quests, and they are not repeatable, so there is a cap on how much you can get before progressing.
Boars will kill you and the rhythm of combat feels a weird (two hits and then dodge, going for a full combo gets you hurt).
Enemies aren't terribly smart, but hit hard. The first real boss is quite challenging and you should approach like this is Dark Souls.
Some thoughts on Windrose if you're considering getting it: It's decent single player and you can bring your character into other people's games, which means you don't need to redo the start to play with friends.
That said level 1 is rough:

We ran afoul of one of Blackbeard's patrols and as our heaviest ship (and highest level player) I had the honour of storming into battle to buy time while my friends escaped to the coast.
We did lose a ship (he survived), but sank 5 in return and set up an outpost in the foothills.

More Windrose last night with four of us now on the game.
This game needs a picture mode so I can do better vanity shots.
Planescape: Torment
Paul Rudd?
I've been getting this wrong for years. I am the fake Rescue Rangers fan.
There's Sea of Thieves, but otherwise there's not an awful lot of piratical games. This landed for me just after I'd rewatched Muppet Treasure Island, so I was in the mood.
