To be honest I’d like to go back to Minnesotans being known for big parkas and an odd love for Prince. Certainly beats whatever this is.
I’ve been very good this week. Maybe it could happen tonight?
Stupid startup idea: AR glasses that use AI to make everyone appear to have the biggest shit-eating grin regardless of their actual expression. The glasses do nothing else. Call them Clown Goggles.
Oh my god this is fantastic storytelling.
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD ***************** Investigation of: LOSS OF THE SUBMARINE TITAN IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN ON JUNE 18, 2023 * * * * * * Accident No.: *********** * * * * * * Interview of: Co-designer/Pilot Deepsea Challenger DCA23FM036 via Microsoft Teams Friday, July 26, 2024
INTERVIEW OF 10 BY LCDR 11 Q. So how did you get yourself started into submersible 12 operations? 13 A. Well, I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic. When I 14 set down the path to make that film, the first thing that I did 15 was arrange to be introduced to the head of the submersible 16 program at the P.P. Shirshov Institute in Moscow, a guy named 17| Professor I. I did that through a mutual friend 18 of ours, a guy named , who is one of the preeminent underwater cinematographers in the world. And had been on a 20 submersible expedition out to Titanic the previous year with the 21 Russians. And that was organized by a Canadian company that was 22 doing an IMAX film which was released under the title Titanica.
Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."
Hey! I remember! It's the 21st of September, so let's dance the night away! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs06...
Celebrate Father’s Day like Batman! …wait a second.
Being terrified was starting to give way to being really angry.
Welp. I guess I have to watch Conclave now.

I don’t have the gif but I’ve already made the playlist.
An old Russian joke: a man walks up to a newsstand, looks at the front page, sneers and walks off. The next day he walks up to the newsstand, looks at the front page, sneers and walks off. The third day he walks up and the newsman asks “Hey, why don’t you ever buy a paper?” And the man replies “I’m just reading the obituaries.” The newsman shakes his head “But the obituaries are in the back!” The man looks at him shaking his head. “Not the one I’m looking for.”
I think about this joke a lot these days.
DS9 scene. Gul Dukat is sitting at a DS9 station desk, with a big space station window behind him showing stars. There is a baseball on the desk. Dukat is wearing a ridged hard leather official uniform that looks uncomfortable. His face and skin is gray, and he has boney ridges running all up and down his face, in one spot forming the shape of a spoon on his forehead. Kind of intimidating. He's holding his hands up like he's pondering something out loud. Closed caption reads, "Is there a single... statue of me on Bajor?"
Martin Luther. His shit posting split the Roman Catholic Church. And I’d love to see him go after these evangelical grifters. But boy howdy would he get canceled for the antisemitism.
I thought I got started here earlier than this. Still, nice to see the site growing. #704,146!
Welp. Congrats to Trump on the second term, I guess.
