Abandoned Set in the early days of the settlement that would become Nashville, this is a fictional account of the first man sentenced to death in this remote 18th century frontier.

NEW STORY: This story is set in the earliest days of what would become Nashville in a wilderness that would become Tennessee. It's a fictional story about the first person sentenced to die there and about all of the death and other weird things that happened there.

Looking up the difference between concrete and pavement for the hundredth time.

Sometimes researching stuff for a story is fun. Other times it's spending half an hour verifying the exact details of 2013 Ford Focus, which is less fun.

I'm closing in on 60,000 words for what will be the rough draft of my first manuscript for a novel. I don't have any expectations that this will go anywhere (I don't have an agent, etc.), but it's still really exciting to make this much progress.

It's a big accomplishment for me!

I picked this up a couple years ago in a used bookstore

Also, in a fit of delirium earlier today I started to google the fictional county I've made up for this story (including fictional history and geography, etc.)

Blew right past 50,000 today. Neat!

In the Periphery A couple stumbles into the hidden history of their town and discovers what lurks in the shadows.

Just testing to see if this version of the link has the header image.

Here's something I posted back in October. It only got a few views because I shared the link just a couple days after a different story... or at least I think that's why!

Since I'm diving into a big project, I think later this month I'll post a revised version of a story I wrote a few years ago but haven't shared yet. It takes place in the very early history of Middle Tennessee.

I passed 40,000 words this morning. This is by far the longest manuscript I've written. It's been a really fun and rewarding project. I'm excited!

I'm trying to think up the dumbest, worst possible names for a for-profit health care company (like HCA) but all the ones I come up with are already taken by real businesses

Everyone I know IRL who has read my latest story has commented on how much research I must have done to prepare. And it's true, I did a ton of reading.

It's nice to have people finally understand what the hell I've been doing with my free time!

I'm giving up my dream of writing weird short stories to write a bullshit novel called 'What Became of Our Oats'

[pretend I posted this yesterday. Happy April!]

Alright, I'm officially over 15,000 words into this new project so I think I can say it's looking more like "Long Fiction From Greg"

La Cruz del Ocelotl This is a story about the search for a mysterious 16th century artifact, magic, revenge, and the end of the world.

And of course you can read the story for absolutely no cost by clicking the link below. It's about a 20-minute read, but you don't have to read it all at once.

Stargate Project (U.S. Army unit) - Wikipedia

Thank you so much to everyone who has checked out the new story so far!

I forgot to mention that the Stargate Project was also a real thing that happened. I watched hours of interviews with some of those guys while researching this story.

NSC Dymphna This is a space story, but it's not sci-fi. It's about truth and memory. And like anything that I write, it's about how hard it is to communicate with and trust other people.

Hello! The new story is taking a little longer than expected because I totally changed the format. It should be ready soon.

In the meantime, why don't you check out this story from a few years back?
