Not sure if it’s a hot take: I’m tired of seeing presentations with AI-generated graphics. Especially coming from librarians—I expected better.

Two pink ribbons that say ā€œlibrarypunkā€

Long overdue post, but I received these awesome ribbons from @librarypunk.bsky.social. I’m definitely wearing them to my next library conference (which isn’t the ALA Conference but it’s coming soon)!

Finally tackling a long-overdue project: using Mp3tag to fix the metadata of the mp3 files I’ve had for years. iTunes on PC is such a pain nowadays. Nothing reads properly anymore. Can't wait to switch (succumb) to Mac but first I gotta clean up the metadata like I should've done years ago😐

Honestly tired of seeing album cover art featuring a faceless, sexy female body when the band doesn’t even have any female members in them.

This was inspired by a student I talked to yesterday. He helped me develop my film last semester. Yesterday he asked me if I shot anything lately, I said I haven’t been able to. He said ā€œkeep shootingā€ and now I feel motivated. Thank you sensei 🄲

I have so many things on my to-do list, but I think I’ll clean my camera and archive the negatives I haven’t gotten to today.

This is why I wanted to go into archives in the first place. Oppressors always try to erase or rewrite history. We can’t be without archives and archivists.

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries šŸ’œ

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

Is the Open Greek and Latin Project still ongoing? I was a volunteer back in 2021 and would like to get back to it if they still need volunteers for OCR correction!
