This is wild. My friends who live in Sarnia have been campaigning against this woman for years.

This is really cool

It's spring now they said.
Church tonight felt pretty joyful! The twice a year organist rocked it with a brass quartet to accompany, and champagne was popped after the service to celebrate. Plus we had a good crew out for pizza after.

Happy Easter!
Won't get reported as much as Cardinal being blocked but worth noting that IDF also locked the inhabitants of Taybeh, a Christian village, inside their town today, preventing them from travelling to Bethlehem or elsewhere to celebrate Palm Sunday.
I'm so happy for your students. Very blessed indeed.
I took Dan Epp-Tiessen's course Apocalypse Then and Now in undergrad and it was fantastic. For one class we watched one of the left behind movies paired with Barbara Rossing's book The Rapture Exposed. I don't know if that's cool, but it was kind of fun.
Thanks! I will check these out.
Have you written anything on this topic? Or do you know anyone who has? I would be curious to learn more (I'm in Winnipeg, so unfortunately I can't go to your talk. My brother lived in Hamilton and died of cancer, so your topic is one I've spent some time thinking about).
Cover of the document featuring logos of each bishops conference and line art highlighting green energy that reads: Manfiesto of the churches of the global south for our common home Towards peace with creation: an urgent call for "a just transition beyond fossil fuels"
The Catholic bishops conferences of Africa, Latin America, and Asia have released another joint statement, this time on the transition away from fossil fuels ahead of the Santa Marta conference next month.

You ever think about how we could lose over 50% of species in the world by 2100 if the planet warms up to 3.2 degrees Celsius? (We're already slated to lose 6% of insects, 8% of plants, and 4% of vertebrates at 1.5 degrees, the most optimistic target.)

So so good. They came to Winnipeg Folk Fest ten years ago and I've loved them ever since. Would love to see them again.
For a charitable read on this, it's to practice the virtue of hospitality. For an uncharitable read it's an excuse to proselytize.
Held on April 16, April 29, and May 14, these sessions will explore the possibilities for liturgical prayers, the readings to be featured in the Revised Common Lectionary, and other worship resources to implement the new Feast. To learn more and register, see: www.bit.ly/feast-workshops
The World Council of churches and other groups are putting together resources and webinars to support the development of liturgical resources for the Feast of Creation' to be celebrated liturgically this year on the first Sunday of September. Here are a few resources:
Thank you! At an event last night I said "If the word hope doesn't work for you try, 'Never fucking surrender.'" The word hope seems too sunny to a lot of people, but the heart of it as I'm interested in it is: we make the future in the present, if we show up, and that never surrender part.
Incredible
I just attended a conference where Melissa Florer-Bixler was the key note on the book of revelation. It was excellent.
I'm having a lot of fun with this. And what a coincidence, we're doing a series in the saints for lent at church and last night was Saint Anthony and Paul of Thebes! I voted for Paul because I think the ravens are cool. www.lentmadness.org/2026/02/anth...
All good owls! I'd say a great horned owl, or snowy owl. (You wouldn't find a barn owl in the boreal forest. Though they do look awesome, and I'm sure they are magical).
Ok, there are some great songs on the new Mumford & Sons album. Love the collabs with Aaron Dessner, Justin Vernon & Gracie Abrams.
“A growing ecumenical movement is reshaping church calendars worldwide. The Feast of Creation — celebrated annually on Sept. 1 and also known as Creation Day or the World Day of Prayer for Creation — is being formally added to the liturgical calendars of many churches”
I'm still sad that Harman's closed! It was the best. But I've had great Ethiopian at Gojo and Mesob too.
Liked the half time show? Check out bad bunny's tiny desk concert. It's fantastic. The part at the end where they're all just jamming... *Chef's kiss* youtu.be/ouuPSxE1hK4?...
We played Scrabble at a local cafe. 🥰
