it’s really lovely! I write character-first while my DM writes world-first, so it’s been a lot of us creating something unique and special in the space where our strong suits interact. that kind of creative rap can def come from prewritten too & has for me, but it feels near foundational to homebrew

like my character isn’t a bigshot political figurehead or whatever but he represents a cultural aspect of the world that i worked with my DM to flesh out in detail. he is a tiny thread in the tapestry but nonetheless he’s really in there and he’s not coming out. and i think that’s cool.

I like prewritten campaigns just fine but there’s something to be said about making a character alongside your DM who will forever be a part of the homebrew lore and is not just pasted on top of a world that is unchanged without them. idk. does that make sense? I love homebrew
