Tenure Will Be Eliminated at Most of Oklahoma’s Public Colleges, Governor Says Gov. J. Kevin Stitt, a Republican, directed the state’s two-dozen regional universities and community colleges to phase out the practice. Existing faculty members will be grandfathered in.

No Tenure for Oklahoma.

Instead, faculty will be on "renewable contracts “tied to teaching effectiveness, student completion, job placement, and economic alignment.”

Friends, I am quite suddenly and with no warning teaching an upper level ecology class in three weeks. If anyone has any ecology lab materials they are willing to share with me, please reach out.

I’ve started wearing a hat at work most days because I like hats. Particularly backwards baseball hats. The students have no opinion on this but man are my co-workers in other colleges and department confused by this. You can be an academic and not wear a blazer. It’s ok friends.

For me, the real humbling bit of this was: you HAVE to keep a regularly updated list of every student who goes on a lab field trip or spends a semester cleaning glassware, otherwise you absolutely will not be able to remember them all at Tenure Time
