I was just thinking the other day how much I miss river level updates!

Just completely normal kind of stuff.

What would be the benefit of using contrast-color as opposed to just choosing a highly contrasting colour when designing? Genuinely wondering!

You know, I’m not FIFA but I think maybe I would not have give the peace prize to Donald Trump.

As a Canucks fan it is generous to say we have a 2C.

City: the traffic on Kenaston is overwhelming.

City: what if more people didn’t get out of their cars on Kenaston?

Man if you’re going to donate it just give it to season ticket holders and supporters. What a terrible move.

Completely and unequivocally mismanaged by the Bombers.

This whole thread is great reading material. I hated the drive out to matches but always did it and loved it despite the results. But things never changed.

Also shoutout to the brass band that played every match day 1. They were the best and while small, a good example of how things just… stopped.

I jettisoned my tickets finally last year. I love the idea of Valour. Yet I do not love Valour.

Red River Rising deserved (deserves?) better than Valour and it’s a shame the Bombers decided that the team didn’t matter to them and decided just throwing a team on the field should be good enough. Embarrassing for them.

Also probably crazy but maybe some curlers will move in because having a curling club within walking distance is a sales feature?

Elmwood Curling club has no parking. I get that you get used to what you have but the idea that the city can’t build on their own parking lot is ridiculous. The Municipal Board needs way less power and I really thought when the NDP took over that it would.

Good luck and enjoy the (long) day to @emmaewood.bsky.social who gets sworn into office today. You worked hard for this and earned it! An exciting day for the city and for Elmwood-East Kildonan.

Let Emma’s victory to be an encouragement to all the quiet leaders putting in the work of building our community, and a warning to the politically ambitious cynics aiming to tear others down in order to build themselves up. Lobbing culture war bombs and stoking driver grievances won’t cut it.

Abel’s strength I think was having inroads through football and being what certainly appeared to be a very genuine and decent guy.

Emma Durand-Wood wins Elmwood-East Kildonan byelection | CBC News Residents in Winnipeg's Elmwood-East Kildonan ward cast ballots Saturday in a byelection for a new councillor, following the death of Jason Schreyer in April.

Woke up with sore feet but all well worth it. We poured our hearts into this one and it feels so good to see the result. So proud of the work we did and optimistic about where we are going in our neighborhood and the work Emma will do.

Plus turquoise really was the best of the colours out there.

As someone who is volunteering with a campaign for the first time ever, I cannot endorse Emma enough. I live in her community and can see first hand all the good she’s involved in. Also in it for 100% the right reasons. Check out her platform at the very least!
