I just learned that a young family member, who I babysat as a toddler, died of an accidental overdose after ingesting fentanyl. She was 24 years old and full of spirit. I am heartbroken.
My husband told me he died, and my immediate response was βgood.β I have lived and worked in Cambodia, and that asshole can burn.
During this holiday season, remember to remind your relatives that you canβt be βsocially liberal but fiscally conservativeβ because economic issues are social issues!

Oof, I worked in clinical research for years and it is SO painful. And with the amount of red tape, recruitment issues, and strict inclusion/exclusion criteria, Iβm often skeptical of the conclusions that are drawn. Gimme a well designed observational study over a typical RCT any day!

Every intro PH course needs to address racism as a public health issue. David Williamsβ Racism and Health (2019) is a great overview, but any of his work is a great addition to a reading list.
But also, you may start working on two aims and another idea comes to you along the way! My final diss aims werenβt the same as in my proposal.
Super weird that you canβt embargo theses! But most journals are OK with publishing things that have appeared in theses these days. They donβt consider that to be βpublished.β Maybe look into guidelines of your target journals?
Why wouldnβt you be able to publish papers based on each of the two aims?
The best dissertation is a done dissertation! If you can write and defend a 2-aim diss, go for it!
