I just read the second issue of Alias: Red Band by @samhumphries.bsky.social and @geraldoborges.bsky.social and realized Jessica Jones has never had a bad series. This is great! The artwork is noir and expressive. The story’s both funny and incredibly dark. I’m all set for three more chapters.

I’m bingeing late 90s Spidey runs that aren’t on digital. Unsurprisingly, @jmdematteis.bsky.social’s Spectacular Spider-Man with Luke Ross stands out. I just finished #”-1”, contrasting Flash Thompson’s childhood with Peter’s. 🥺 It’s a crime these stories aren’t more readily available.
I just backed Stray: Vol. 3 REQUIEM: Issues 1-3 on @kickstarter.com www.kickstarter.com/projects/bli...
My kid doesn’t realize how lucky she is to have a dad obsessed with buying comics on release date.
I backed The Comics Staple - A Comics News Zine by @explodingarrow.bsky.social! Looks like a great project and, as a subscription, it’s a reward that keeps on giving…

Just finished reading Daredevil: Enemy of My Enemy by @alexsegura.com, a fun novel featuring the Punisher at the core of its story (which, to be honest, is why I read it). I enjoyed the book’s twists and turns and admired how Segura did justice to many characters from across Daredevil’s world.
The first half of Sam Kieth’s The Maxx (scripted by William Messner-Loebs) was iconic, remembered as much for the MTV show as the comics. Alan Moore wrote a bridging issue before the narrative flipped into a calmer, sadder kind of strange. It’s all well worth a (re)read.
My goodness, Ultimates #22 by @denizcamp.bsky.social and Juan Frigeri was an incredible issue, among the very best of the series. Heartbreaking confrontation between two best friends who’ve gone down opposite paths. Camp shows us how good men come to do such bad things.
Wait, did we know before today that Dune: Part Three was written by Brian K. Vaughan?? My anticipation just increased by 10x!
Over recent weeks I finally read @tomking.bsky.social’s Batman from the beginning. I know opinions vary, but I thoroughly enjoyed the big, bold swings that King and the artists (mostly @mikeljanin.bsky.social) sustained for 100+ comics. Brilliant. (Also, Lee Weeks is a genius.)
I had a great time talking comics this week with Carlos Collects Comics! We of course covered Mantle, but I stayed on to chat about comics I love — Punisher MAX, Stray Bullets — and memories of my work from 1995…

Yeah, this was a really incredible issue. They should pay you double for the density of these comics.
Loved Chip Zdarsky’s Captain America #7 (w/ Delio Diaz & Frank Alpizar) and Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon #1 (w/ Luca Maresca) this week! I’m a sucker for important-feeling, slow-burn event-building, and this includes my fave @marvelcomicshqs.bsky.social toys and even ties to the Ultimate U!
Mantle #3 releases this spring, making now the perfect time to catch-up. Issues #1 and 2 of Mantle — my coming-of-age superhero indie with @artbygoof.bsky.social — are available on my site (link in bio) and via @comixology.bsky.social! Read for as low as $4 USD.

Proud to be first! I happened to be looking at my phone at the right moment. :)
I just backed Superguy #1 and #2: My Date with the President’s Daughter by @mrtonynacho.bsky.social on Kickstarter!

I'm at Action Figure Comic Con today at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto. This is the first convention for Mantle #2! Drop by if you're in the area! actionfigurecomiccon.com
When I was 17, I wrote a Spider-Man back-up and was lucky enough for it to be illustrated by the great Sal Buscema. After finishing the job, Sal called me at home — my parents probably had to hand me the phone — and complimented me on the writing. It was a highlight of my life. RIP. 😢
Snowed in? Figuring out what to do? For $5 CAD (less than $5 for Americans!) you can download a copy of Mantle #1 and effortlessly check out this comic you’ve heard me go on about for the last six months. It’s fun, easy reading and we have more coming this year! Link in bio. 👍🏻

Mantle #2 released today on @comixology.bsky.social for NCBD! Now — if Kindle/ComiXology is your jam — you can add both issues of Mantle to your cloud library, enjoy the series across all your devices, and read with Guided View technology on smaller screens!

How incredible that for $20 we can get a facsimile of this 1976 treasury by Gerry Conway, Ross Andru, and Dick Giordano, with assists by Neal Adams and John Romita. Textbook-perfect crossover. Luscious newsprint pages. I want to die with this book over my face, breathing it in…
@explodingarrow.bsky.social I got my copy of The Comics Courier #3 today! It feels great to hold some folded newsprint and, as you say in your intro, the contents really do cover a wide swath of comics both familiar and new to me. I look forward to reading this over coffee and breakfast.
Mantle #1 and 2, the first two issues of my comic book with @artbygoof.bsky.social and Irma Kniivila, are now both available in digital and print (with reasonable shipping rates) at adamsantangelocomics.com.
It’s 2026 — see what you’ve been missing!

To close out the day, I finally read my copy of Psychic Sam Vol. 1 by Mark Millar, @johnromita.bsky.social, and Klaus Janson. I had a blast with it — the type of violent vigilante justice book that fell out of fashion and is largely missing from today’s marketplace. Ready for Vol. 2!
Ultimate Endgame #1 by @denizcamp.bsky.social, Jonas Scharf, and @terrydodsonart.bsky.social (a fave of mine!) is my first comic of 2026 and everything I hoped it would be. I’ve read the complaints, but how cool is it that the huge story begun in Ultimate Invasion will actually have an ending? 👍🏻
Could Radioactive Spider-Man by Joe Kelly and Kev Walker be the darkest Spidey story ever told? This week’s finale is ultimately about euthanasia and whether Peter can make the decision for Aunt May! 😬 But also, Miles is called “Spin” for the first time in a mainline book…
