"Fannying around at the back" will be the downfall of this City side and, in due course, Western civilisation.

I think you need to start that way. See how it's going after 60-70 minutes. Can't expect all those players who've done a full shift at Old Trafford and ER to do the same again at B'mth and Wembley. Need to share the minutes better - we sometimes seem to want to run our players into the ground. #lufc

I had a subscription to that when it started - still got issues 1 - 100 in the loft. When I was working full time I never had time or energy to read anything much. Now I have time to keep up with WSC, Private Eye etc. Even read the occasional book. But rarely the Athletic, which I still subscribe to

Anyway, not much more than a coffee and a lot less than a pint. There's some other great content in this issue, and a cracking photo from QPR in 1976 in which every single person looks like an extra from Minder.

I bet it's £4.95.

I've been on a rolling subscription since 1988, so had no idea how much an individual copy costs until just now!

To subscribers, yes. Otherwise your local newsagent should have it - something to read on the way to Wembley?

Just read a really interesting article in the new @wsc.co.uk about the history of away strips and who has to change, how teams have ended up wearing away kits at home etc. Highly recommended.

Chris Wood's bicycle kick goal vs Fulham
Chris Wood's bicycle kick goal vs Fulham YouTube video by I talked to Barzini

I was looking for Giuseppe Belluci's ridiculous attemp at one (Rotherham?) But found this Chris Wood effort youtu.be/rG7M4l3mIRE?... #lufc

Or Struijk to left wing back, with Rodon coming in to centre. Justin just isn't that great on his left foot, imho (having watched him struggle valiantly in that role vs Brentford recently).

A left footed player would be top of my summer shopping list (we seemingly only have PS & GG).

My impression is it's hard to turn it on and off. So may need to go full bore at B'mth, to maintain momentum.

Yesterday, once they'd lost the intensity, they just seemed to get sloppier and lackadasical.

Would've been ideal to make subs earlier, conserve minutes in people like Tanaka, Gudmundson.

File that #lufc win as "one that won't live long in the memory". Lost all intensity after going 2-0 up, but I'm sure DF was just keen to manage the match and get the points on the board. Fair enough.

Credit to DCL for trying to raise his team mates tempo in the last 20 minutes. Glad he got a goal.

Wolves fans sat next to me on the train are making up a relegation song to the tune of Brimful of Asha. Fair play.

They are very relaxed about this afternoon's game. This troubles me greatly. #lufc

I mean it's not exactly 'Race Across The World' but I'm glad we're providing some minor matchday distraction #lufc

LNER app has a live tracker. We're just passing through Newark (very slowly).

Speed, sunshine, free tiny bottles of water. Aren't trains brilliant?!

Just started moving again out of Grantham. Should be OK from here, apparently. So, should be at Elland Road before kick off, all being well. #lufc

And now we're stopped again, at Grantham. Being held here until we can move north "through the affected area" (it's like the railway has a rash on its inner thigh...).

They're not giving any predictions of when we'll be on the move again, or arrive at Leeds. Hey ho.

2 days ago 3 0 2 0

I'm so giddy with the sensation of movement that I've eaten my hoola hoops...

Still no idea when we'll get to Leeds after that last announcement about further delays, but more confident we will actually get there, at some point, now.

That's the thing - whichever way you decide to travel you have to allow hours of contingency time given the fragility of our road and rail networks.
Anyway, hope you have a safe and smooth journey and everyone is happy on the way back.
My return journey will be about 60 miles and about three hours.

"We're on the move"! #lufc

There's jeopardy with that too (roadworks, accidents traffic jams). Plus the tiringness of the drive - particularly going home, particularly if we've lost!

But you will at least not be at the mercy of our crumbling rail infrastructure. Good luck!

We just got on. Think this is our best bet now. Fingers crossed.

We're not far away. Are some trains moving north now?

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

Which one is that?

In my current mood, my input to the Wembley travel conversation would be 'set off now and you might just make it in time for penalties' #lufc

All possibilities being explored. Refreshing the LNER app more frequently than a #lufc fan checking the live scores during injury time...
