I understand their behaviour and movement, food preferences, water conditions and depth. I can kill them quickly and humanely. There isn’t a more hands on food source for me outside berry picking and vegetable gardening. I know them lil dudes and knowing your food is good

Eating snow crab is so satisfying to me. It’s tasty and nutritious, but I also know things about their biology and evolution. I know where to find snow crab and how to catch them. I can handle them and access them for size, sex, health, molt, age, parasites, liveliness.

Cars a a very popular hobby and a lot of people know things about them. If you can learn even a little bit about cars you can use the information to start conversations, make small talk, and impress your friends who know nothing about cars!

The Best Tech 2026 feature was really informative, honest, and balanced (maybe) and for fun I enjoyed the article about driving a corvette zr1, whatever that is, around Los Angeles. I liked it because I like to drive my pretend cars around pretend Los Angeles in Grand Theft Auto.

I don’t even drive but I think Motortrend is one of my favourite magazines. One might assume a car magazine would be conservative or right leaning but it’s not like that at all.

Furnace burns probably a gallon and a half an hour, maybe more with my drafty house. 230 liters is around 50 gallons.

I’m going to look for the other oldest books when I bring these back and see what else he was reading.

Checked out a book today which Ray Guy also checked out on February 5th of 1975. The library stopped using names in the late 80s and stopped using paper checkout slips entirely in the 2010s
