I understand their behaviour and movement, food preferences, water conditions and depth. I can kill them quickly and humanely. There isn’t a more hands on food source for me outside berry picking and vegetable gardening. I know them lil dudes and knowing your food is good

Eating snow crab is so satisfying to me. It’s tasty and nutritious, but I also know things about their biology and evolution. I know where to find snow crab and how to catch them. I can handle them and access them for size, sex, health, molt, age, parasites, liveliness.
Didn’t have much to say there for a while but now that fishing is started I have to keep up my tradition of posting!

Still so cold, not as sleepy now it’s going beyond sleepy.
So cold. So sleepy.
Crab fishing tomorrow. My seventh? season now.
Cars a a very popular hobby and a lot of people know things about them. If you can learn even a little bit about cars you can use the information to start conversations, make small talk, and impress your friends who know nothing about cars!
The Best Tech 2026 feature was really informative, honest, and balanced (maybe) and for fun I enjoyed the article about driving a corvette zr1, whatever that is, around Los Angeles. I liked it because I like to drive my pretend cars around pretend Los Angeles in Grand Theft Auto.
I don’t even drive but I think Motortrend is one of my favourite magazines. One might assume a car magazine would be conservative or right leaning but it’s not like that at all.
Furnace burns probably a gallon and a half an hour, maybe more with my drafty house. 230 liters is around 50 gallons.
Tomorrow the hauling begins. Dropped my pots yesterday, built pounds today. Baiting bags after supper.
I’m going to look for the other oldest books when I bring these back and see what else he was reading.
It cost 488 dollars for 230 liters on the 13th when it was delivered
Checked out a book today which Ray Guy also checked out on February 5th of 1975. The library stopped using names in the late 80s and stopped using paper checkout slips entirely in the 2010s
This is going to be awful for search and rescue having to pluck people out of old woods roads
I think about that guy who pours lemons out of a box of Life cereal about twice a week
And lobsters too but crab starts first.
It’s also a good time to start planning for buying lovely fresh crab from me!!
Maybe this year when we haves our protest my pals can join me on the hill.
Things I want to do
-fish crab
-sell crab for people to eat
-be fairly compensated for my labour and risk of life and limb
-eat crab myself
-have the right to strike
Things I do not want to to
-fight with processors
-be under paid
-have to strike
Almost time for the annual crab racket!
Probably costs 350 dollars now.
Looks like I’m going to have to order 50 more gallons of furnace oil :( 💸💸💸

Terrance got him for me because Bulbasaur is my best friend in Pokopia and it’s my birthday today.
On my pillow when I woke up this morning :)
I’ll use the oil furnace a little bit. Every drop is precious.
12 degrees in the house right now. Brrr.
