He finds himself at the edge of Tahrir Square, the heart of the city, where the murmur of a thousand souls mingles with the distant call to prayer. The weight of immortality rests upon his shoulders as he ponders the curious shift in human faith. -
Itβs also in the symbols he sees all around him. The jewelry and the tattoos. People are once again recognizing and providing offerings of thanks and asking for help from his pantheon. -
A young girl points to a newly constructed statue of Anubis in the city center, her eyes wide with wonder and curiosity, while her mother recounts the tales of his wisdom. The aroma of incense wafts from an alley, hinting at ceremonies honoring Isis and Osiris behind closed doors. -
All of them could easily blend in and become part of modern societies or remain silent observers but Amun-Ra can't help but overhear snippets of conversations that remind him of a time long past. -
The same society that no longer embraces the tenets of one faith but rather go back to their roots. It wasnβt just his pantheon. He could feel the stirrings of all the ancient ones. The Greeks, the Romans, the Norse, the Aztecs, the Chinese. The list went on and on. -
It is a faint but growing presence that hasn't been felt in millennia.
It makes him happy to know that the once forgotten old gods are stirring once more, drawn back into relevance by a society that has come to question the cold embrace of technology and progress. -
The lights cast a glow on the modern facade of the city but even amongst the signs of modern civilization are the remnants of the past. As he walks he feels a familiar tug at the core of his being as the faint echoes of prayers and offerings echo through the air. -
He has seen the rise and fall of empires and civilizations and while he understands this is how life must go, it doesnβt make it any easier to accept that many of the changes came at the cost of true devotion and divinity. -
