Do they? Where are your stats for that claim? Both of mine were 2 yrs old. No problem at all. Both v advanced talkers. Both with a beautiful set of teeth that never needed any dental work. People put too much pressure on parents. A non stressed parent=a non stressed child. People need to chill out!

People can be very snobby about the use of dummies. I sucked my thumb as a child - you can’t throw your thumb to the bin man when it’s ‘time’. People should do what they are comfortable with. A non stressed parent = a non stressed child.

My elder daughter is a dentist and her one year old son uses one.

Dummies are specially shaped now not to affect the palette in the same way. (They were even when my daughters were younger, 34 years ago.)
