Web 3.0 is just the web rediscovering its roots.
Web 2.0 is an aberration whose initial promise ultimately failed to deliver, creating Tech Bros instead.
claude.ai just told me to go to the support site but gave me the wrong url for it, and what?? thanks @anthropic.com Headed over the the right one now to complain about tokens being eaten up on repeated failed responses.
Insightful warning piece from @joost.blog - this is seismic. joost.blog/deafening-si... #WooCommerce representation being absent at the table puts them on the menu. And not just them, but everyone who depends on its ecosystem.
Why even a US tech giant is launching 'sovereign support' for Europe now zdnet.com/article/why-... via @zdnet.bsky.social & @sjvn.bsky.social
Red Hat, an American company, is now backing the growing wave of European governments and companies moving to digital sovereignty.
It's clear Automattic's business model is shifting toward trademark rent-seeking while it "defends" open source. FLOSS no longer needs outside detractors, we've got our own now, thanks.

Overheard conspiracy theory of the day: CFL rule changes are a result of Trump wanting to attack (and annex) Canada from within, starting by Americanizing our football to be like the NFL.
Nobody goes the extra mile out of a passion for creating shareholder value.
I'll say this louder for those in the back: #WordPress "5 for the Future" **cannot** be reformed or rescued without tearing up its foundation: it exists for the wrong reasons. Stop trying to fix it--tear it down and re-evaluate completely. #wpdrama
The #wordpress ecosystem has lots of questions & potential pitfalls being pointed out for @fair.pm & @aspirepress.bsky.social but tbh, I haven't yet seen one that hasn't already been considered by those groups. Few people are even checking whether there is an answer already.
Some people did a thing for the #wordpress community coming out of the #wpdrama - I'm proud of the work they did and thankful for the privilege of working with this team! www.therepository.email/aspirepress-...

I installed the Fair Package Manager (@fairpm) on my personal site last night. I'm excited to say it worked flawlessly. A couple of plugins were updated from Fastly's servers, & a paid plugin updated from its servers as normal. I'm excited to see what else comes from this interesting development.
Matt: "Joost and Karim should go away and use open source to build a fork of WordPress with their ideals around governance."
Joost & Karim: **Build something in 6 months that match their ideas of governance**
Matt: "OMFG they built something in SECRET".
