"There's a lot of evidence that shows that the stronger a community's social cohesion is, the better chances they have of resilience from climate hazards," said Rishi Sugla, climate resilient scientist at the UW Climate Impacts Group. @uofwa.bsky.social @nwcasc.bsky.social

More on recent termination of the NW Climate Resilience Collaborative and concerns for remaining NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnerships (CAPs).

The dismissal of National Climate Assessment authors this week and notice that its scope is being "reevaluated" leaves the door open to a compromised report serving fossil fuel interests at the cost of American communities.

I talked to John Vause about this concern on CNN International last night.

UW climate research group braces for Trump cuts The University of Washington's Climate Impacts Group relies heavily on federal funding to help communities adapt to climate change.

I talked to the Seattle Times about how loss of our region's Climate Adaptation Science Center and NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnership would slash our capacity to support NW climate resilience.

โ€œIf the (centers) are eliminated, then our resource managers are going to be flying blind,โ€ Krosby said."
