Something that is interesting to me is a lot of people are using The Great Bluesky Reset to try to recreate Twitter but it's made me more aware of how much time I spend online and I'm posting less. And I've gotten a lot more done as a result.

Posting less, it turns out, is good for you.

This is my most interesting takeaway too. People think this is a AAA only thing, presumably because a) that’s the most visible stuff and b) that’s what they dislike and see as ‘deserving’ failure for one of many reasons.

I think many also assume what they’d group as ‘indie’ are independently funded

I didn’t realize I missed RTing so much? I’ve been passing personally curated memes to friends for years, but it’s not the same. There’s something deeply satisfying to finding someone on the internet saying something so unexpected and resonant, you need to add it to your social media persona feed.

You get 20 extra characters on Bluesky which is great because it means, when you copy your old tweets into Bluesky you can always add “THUS SPOKE THE LICH!” to the end and it will still fit.

I took a long social media hiatus form The Other Place, but I’m back, lovelies! I’m here to chat remote work, running studios, sustaining your human energies when you are inclined to sacrifice them for the art, and indie game love.

There’s truly wild subtext in their arguments of “but the PEOPLE need to know the TRUTH”— like the thing they are mad about is some Very Important Information for society as a whole. A holy mission of illumination.
