Tim Cook is stepping down as CEO on Sept 1. I wish He-Must-Not-Be-Named would step down as but Iโm comparing Apples to Oranges.

Jokes on you. I am not wearing any pants today for you to steal!
There are times when I'm truly happy... and then there are times when I'm wearing pants.
So cute. Me too, but alone.

I just had a brand new vendor who who looked just like this guy, except with a goatee and 10 years older. IYKYK. Swoon.

She quickly mentions her Taoist roots with themes of balance too. I wish there had been more of that.
--2/2 What does matter is that we're a part. Like a thread in a cloth or a grass-blade in a field. It is and we are. What we do is like wind blowing on the grass.โ โ Ursula K. Le Guin, The Lathe of Heaven
Also someone posted on Wiki a general diagram of the different continuities visited.
Kind of a longish quote so I have to split it in half. โThings don't have purposes, as if the universe were a machine, where every part has a useful function. What's the function of a galaxy? I don't know if our life has a purpose and I don't see that it matters. -- 1/2
!!! Adding to my Queue! Thank you for the tip. May your pillow always be cool.
I should dig that one up, it's the version I haven't seen.
I do too!
Two of them, in fact. Apparently the one I haven't seen (from 1980) is good, but the one I have seen (from 2002 with Lukas Haas) was ... not good.
I know PKD has written a few books dealing with altering reality, but you may be conflating the Lathe with PKD's Ubik.
Which version, the one from 1980 or the one from 2002?
Hope you enjoy the book!
LOL, that comment is spot on because yesterday I was at the library reading it and caught myself dozing off a few times.
I have not seen that version, which I understand UKL was heavily involved with. Then 2002 Lukas Haas version left me very underwhelmed, but did inspire me to read the novel.
The first third is a real slog to get through, the middle third starts lining up things, but the final third is out of this world amazing. Just still... not my favorite.
This week I reread UKL's classic novel The Lathe of Heaven.
George Orr has the power to change reality when he dreams. When his unscrupulous psychiatrist discovers this, he manipulates George into changing things that will benefit himself. Things go bad real fast.
In a way is that your own self-fulfilling prophecy? Because I assure you, itโs not true
But bonita, do you smell and feel Bโbonita?
Slowly, oh so slowly, waking up this morning and Iโve just spent two minutes hypnotized by the water droplets whirling around the hot pan.
Adulting sucks. I did my dishes and a long nap and thatโs it today.
