As bluesky celebrates Tim Curry on his birthday and the energy he has brought to every performance, I was reminded of the time when I worked as an editor on a preschool show where very much brought that energy to a voice role as the Tin Man m.youtube.com/watch?v=fi_u...

Cherry tree at night backlit with red
Cherry tree under a street lamp backlit by red
Passed an ominously lit cherry tree
An explanatory label for the contents of a gacha machine of "Troubled Cats" figurines. Examples include an orange tabby cat that has collapsed in a mishapen pile of abject defeat and a cream cat that has fallen to its knees, presumably struck with immense existential despair
Unfortunately this gacha machine was sold out
And it was great to see how much went into some of the added arranged tracks released with the remastered edition a few years back m.youtube.com/watch?v=JOP0...
This one's probably my favorite arrangement of anything off a video game soundtrack m.youtube.com/watch?v=vjyx...
QTP with a game that has a 10/10 soundtrack
Celebrated my heritage by making Irish soda bread on a pizza steel
A grid of 9 video game box art images. Top row - Front Mission 3, Worms, Blood Bowl. Middle row- Castlevania Harmony of Despair, Bushido Blade, Dynasty Tactics. Bottom row- Ice Hockey, Frozen Synapse, Joust
Bonus list- these are the games where, if I see something new that's clearly trying to evoke the mechanics of one of these, it immediately has my attention
I didn't want it to be all Square Enix stuff, so Final Fantasy 8 and 9 and Chrono Trigger are not there but honorable mentions. Smash is there to represent all of that series, but Mario Kart 64 is actually the stand out of those for me
A grid of 9 video game box art images. Top row - Final Fantasy VI, Xenogears, Mass Effect 2. Middle row - To The Moon, Smash Bros, Mario Kart 64. Bottom row - Final Fantasy Tactics, The Yawhg, Kentucky Route Zero
Right, right. The video game thing. I think this is a good cross section of stuff I like/stuff that left a lasting impression on me

Sitting on a train leaving Grand Central, got to see a man in a pope costume running to try to get on as the train began leaving. (The pope did not make the train)
These came out a little sweet even for my sweet tooth. Kind of close to cocktail frank sauce or a thick sweet and sour sauce. Some of that may be increased spice tolerance since the book was published, or me substituting some more easy to find modern ingredients
Vincent Price's recipe for Western Franks
Two hot dogs on a plate. They have a thick dark red sauce on them.
Second of two hot dog recipes from Vincent Price's "A Treasury of Great Recipes." Western franks, which are cooked in sauce incl. pineapple juice, chili sauce, molasses, and onions
For those who knew the old Yankee Doodle in New Haven, CT, these are a lot like the bacon wrapped dogs you could get there
Two hot dogs on a plate, wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese and onions
A recipe for stuffed frankfurters
Here's the first of those recipes from this long out of print book, for Vincent Price's "Stuffed Frankfurters"
Vincent Price writes at length about eating hot dogs at a baseball stadium. Be sure to read in his voice.
In addition to his long acting career, Price also hosted cooking shows and wrote cookbooks. In one of those books, "A Treasury of Great Recipes," he listed recipes from some his favorite, usually fancy, restaurants around the world. The US section ends with a part on Dodger Stadium
A smiling Vincent Price hands someone a box of hot dogs at Dodgers Stadium
It's Halloween week and the Dodgers are in the world series. I have taken this as a sign to make Vincent Price's hot dog recipes
A squirrel with all black fur stands in the middle of a grass covered lawn
Managed to finally get a good picture of one of the local goth squirrels while out for a walk
One time at San Diego Comic Con I was walking to the convention center and Mark Hamill was walking in the opposite direction in a crosswalk. I got to see his face as he noticed the young kid behind me in full classic Joker cosplay and he excitedly went over to say hello.
Photo of a painting of a woman wearing an elaborate showgirl costume, being held by a giant, pale hand. There are theater-style curtains in the foreground, and star-like garlands all around.
Photo of a painting of a woman in a pose reminiscent of The Birth of Venus. She has 5 arms, 1 resting on the side of her head, 3 in what look like spell-casting gestures, and 1 clutching a pair of high heels crackling with pink energy. The woman is wearing only a sparkly pink bikini bottom, and star-shaped pasties, and she has long, blonde hair. Her feet are surrounded by fire, and she's standing in front of a paneled wall with a landscape painted on it, and black curtains on either side. There's a burst of light behind her.
Photo of a painting of a woman sitting on the blank, white ground. She has black hair, styled in an updo, and is wearing a flowing, black, strapless dress with white fur trim, and patterned with stars. She's also wearing a pair of blue high heels with red soles, and there's a band-aid on her heel.

NYC friends: I highly recommend checking out the Rebecca Leveille Guay exhibition at the Philippe Labaune Gallery (but it closes next Saturday.)
As a bonus, they have friendly gallery dogs!

Beet burger wrapped in langos bread and cut in half on a plate, next to another burger not cut in half
Made beet burgers in deep fried langos bread. Pretty happy with how they came out.
All right, seriously, we need a way for ordinary people to have a reliable income that isn't dependent on providing exponential growth to shareholders and 3rd vacation mansions for C-suite executives. Who out there is really examining and discussing the practical alternatives we have?

This was great
So so excited to finally share!! Some very talented friends and I have formed a small indie studio to make the dream game of our childhoods- magical girls wrestling with big emotions and bigger demons. We're in VERY early days, but moving fast. I'd LOVE it if you want to follow along our journey! ✨💖

Went to see the Yoshitaka Amano exhibition at the Lomex Gallery in lower Manhattan. Was great to actually see it in person. It's running through next Saturday.
Hey, can you please edit this post or take it down? You used my Bluesky account instead of Sen. Murphy's actual account and it's directing a lot of people to me incorrectly.
Oh no. Someone accidentally tagged me incorrectly as the CT senator in a post and now people are following me. I am not him. Good luck and take care of yourselves, but if that's who you're looking for this is not the place.
