This is sooooo good.
Why we allowed a product to be sold that kills 2/3rd of its users, beggars belief.

System needs to remove all gas costs from #electricity.
Cheap running costs of wind/solar not in bills.
B’cos price of electricity set by last unit of electricity needed to meet demand at any time.
In UK, last unit is gas-generated electricity so when gas prices spike, so do electricity bills

At last. Decoupling.
UK govt to increase taxes on wind & solar to push them to fixed-price contracts, to cut link between #electricity & gas prices.
Blockade of Strait of Hormuz pushed up gas prices & led to higher electricity prices, as gas-fired power stations set price under UK market design.

We need renewables. Full stop. Iran & air pollution levels tell us this.
1st cover roofs/brownfield. Roofs giving people control over bills.
Should be agrivolteic with crops/animal farming incorporated - by law.
(golf courses 5-20x land used/ proposed for solar - solar 0.1% may rise to 0.3% golf 2%)

#Democracy dies when elections are bought.
In the UK let’s get on with limiting this.
Right now.
Fund elections via the state proportional to party membership, with a limit of £100 as individual donations, if we must have them

What this Herald headline doesn’t tell you is:
1. It’s Covid deaths that brought the figures down for 2020-22
2. It’s about the same for all 4 nations.
So it’s not a Scottish problem, it’s a UK problem
It’s important to know the correct facts for our election voting

Another win for vaccines!

The problem is, as you may know, alcohol tax is a reserved matter to Westminster. Scot Gov had no ability to keep the cash, but made the correct public health decision anyway. It has significantly helped health.

When we are the coldest
Where we need most heat
Where we produce over 120% of Scotland’s electricity needs
Where costs are highest
Does that feel fair?

Why are so many on social media ignoring the facts?
Who are funding them?
Guess.

And the Tories want ‘an early end to the FossilFuel windfall tax’
Why?

Hope they make that illegal. Disgraceful… profiting from shortages.

SNP’s manifesto pledge to cap the prices of essentials in Scottish supermarkets in a bid to ensure that everyone can afford a nutritious diet: The prize for most unhinged response has to go to @ITV, who bizarrely – and matter-of-factly – labelled the policy communism”

About time.
Don’t treat your dog unless they have fleas.
These treatments have bad effect on biodiversity.
One monthly flea treatment for a large dog contains enough imidacloprid to kill 25 million bees

So…… intensive pig &chicken farming is cruel.
It’s also harmful to our health.
Fine particulate matter formed from ammoniadrives heart disease, stroke, asthma & chronic lung conditions.
And it is our most vulnerable patients who pay the price
