Image of twoleaf watermilfoil and text Have you seen this species Report it!

Most non-native species are harmless, but 10-15% are invasive. Prevention is key to stop their spread.

🌿 Twoleaf watermilfoil can form dense mats that choke waterways, crowd out native species and reduce oxygen availability.

⚠️ Recorded at a few GB sites but not yet established.

Nigel Farage’s economic plans are a disaster Three choices: fiscal implosion, deep austerity or a hasty U-turn

The Economist estimates that the annual cost of the Reform/Farage promises is £200bn and savings of around £100bn, due to cuts in public services and deep austerity.

Reform/Farage will promise anything to grab power, but will face the Truss moment.

Under scrutiny Reform will wriggle.

Well that’s me depressed for the weekend. As Glen acidly observes this looks like a pretty transparent effort to shift blame for coming university bankruptcies onto the institutions. Good luck with selling that to whichever MPs are about to lose their constituency’s largest employer.

This is still legal in England! It’s sick. It’s indefensible.

Brexit led to 1,500 deaths a year as EU nurses left UK, study finds Quality of care dropped as staff were replaced with less experienced nurses, researchers at the University of Surrey say

Brexit led to 1,500 deaths a year as EU nurses left UK.

Replaced by less experienced or skilled staff, which had a knock-on effect for patients.

Brexit has done immense harm. No impact assessment was provided.

Farage/Reform still doing the same with their nationalist rhetoric.

UK executive pay increases surpass US competitors FTSE 100 companies race to catch American rivals’ bigger remuneration plans

Pay package of UK CEOs grown faster this year than those of their US rivals.

FTSE1 00 CEO median pay up 11%. Average real pay for workers unchanged since 2008.

Govts say wage rises for workers are inflationary; ignore rise in exec pay, dividends, share buybacks.

Celebre D’Allen is dead. And the jockey who ignored the horse’s suffering has been given a 10-day ban. Just 10 days.

Michael Nolan was suspended after “continuing to ride when the horse clearly had no more to give.” Those are the regulator’s own words.
