I’ve also heard this come up in a discussion of when to use genAI: is this a job where the only thing that counts is delivering the product? Or a trip to the gym, where the effort itself changes you in ways that you want?

I recall Ken and Aaden discussing this when they found out about Freya’s kink. I just re-read the first half of that entry and found another mention that hits close to home: Wren keeping a yoga practice rather than have nanochine build the strength for her.

I found the "oh, that was just a heretic sect" gambit a bit clumsy, but putting that aside, two of my favorite moments in ME3 were the geth saying "Yeah, we've been looking after Rannoch while you've been away" and the incidental dialogue about geth combat-dropping in to help the humans.
The thing that really hit me about the geth was the part in ME3 where Legion is talking about the Dyson sphere that they were building -- that the quarians destroyed. The geth just wanted a home where they could beep peacefully at each other.

"This position is unavailing" is my nomination for 2025's award for Most Understated Shade in a Legal Opinion.
