It occurs to me that Trump being relatively nice about Keir Starmer while attacking the EU, is intended to discourage Starmer from getting closer to the EU. If undoing Brexit is disliked by Trump and Putin then it looks even more attractive.

Stopping buying US products and services where possible is more effective than tariffs. It has a more immediate impact and can be selectively targeted. Distressing Republican politicians in red states has to be especially worthwhile. Health and environmental concerns can also stop imports.

Gosh that a difficult one!

GB News expresses similar outrage that companies won’t advertise on their channel. Why should anyone be obliged to hand over money if the medium and audience are wrong for their product? An exaggerated sense of entitlement and bullying wouldn’t change my mind.

A third runway at Heathrow would worsen air quality and noise pollution for thousands in London - while increasing carbon emissions globally. @teamlabouruk.bsky.social should prioritise sustainable infrastructure projects that boost the economy without harming the planet youtube.com/watch?v=jsnV...

Surely it is matched in scale and significance by none other than St Paul’s conversion on the road to Damascus. Although possibly falling a bit short on sincerity.

This is insightful. Trump has effectively said trust nothing and no one but me. His followers obediently do so and others are cowed and bullied into accepting his omnipotence and infallibility. We all know how difficult it to rescue someone from a cult. This is millions!

The increase in #AirPollution and noise will affect us all in the borough

Whereas Boris Johnson famously said he’d lie in front of the first bulldozer, Labour’s Rachel Reeves is laying out the red carpet for the first bulldozer

There is little argument in favour of Heathrow expansion

So there was a big tap to turn on. I knew Trump would know where it was. So blessed to have him as God’s gift to America. There will be no holding us back now. Let us March to Triumph and fulfil God and President Trump’s Will.

Stop Musk! This petition to prevent overseas billionaires meddling in our politics is now at *94,000* signatures - having leapt up from just 30k a day ago.

It’s *so close* now to triggering a parliamentary debate - let’s get it over the 100k mark by the end of today!

"Gerald Kaufman was a Jewish Labour Party legend, and it's hard to imagine Keir Starmer not booting him out of the Labour Party if he were alive today and saying stuff like this."

Some solar schemes involve spraying land with glyphosate for 30 years. Others mix food and energy production in creative ways that enhance biodiversity. Sensible Greens back some schemes and oppose others.

Labour talk a good game on nature, but when they need to make a decision, too often they revert to the option that further damages nature.

The UK is already one of the most nature depleted countries. If we truly want to stop further damage, we need to get Greens elected.

We cannot change the past or undo the atrocities of the Holocaust, but we must learn from it. Survivors warn how it crept up—discrimination, powerful rhetoric, dehumanisation, then murder. Never forget, always act. #NeverAgain #HolocaustMemorialDay #WeRemember

Anglian Water passed thousands of pollution tests at sewage plants that weren’t carried out Analysis by campaign group finds utility company had highest rate of ‘no-flow’ samples of any water and sewerage firm in 2024

Anglian Water passed thousands of pollution tests at sewage plants that weren’t carried out.

That's what happens when companies self certify.

Sewage dumping under stated.

Will get worse, regulators required to promote growth i.e. keep quiet, fewer fines.

More social housing needed!
All new houses to be properly insulated!
All old homes to be properly insulated!
And so on.
Labour just doesn't understand how to make homes safe and comfortable.

Trump says that Gaza should be “cleaned out”. The Palestinian population of about 2 million taken by Egypt and Jordan. This accords with the Israeli agenda and his enticing vision of seashore condos. Disgusted but I am no longer capable of being surprised.

I wouldn’t say that so far I am disappointed by the Labour Government. It’s rather that I am consumed by pent up fury.

The EU is entirely right in their effort to exercise some control controls on the American tech giants. That they turn to Trump to persuade him to bully the EU only emphasises the importance of them sticking to their policies. Sadly, I fear the bullying will weaken the commitment.

Andy will gets lots of publicity and his sycophancy will attract Trump’s favourable attention. Even devoid of talent and ethics he probably has a stellar career in prospect.

Just a horrifyingly awful lie, trying to validate an illegal invasion of a sovereign nation and blatant war crimes by Putin and Russia in Ukraine.

Old oak tree with twisted branches in autumn woodland of ancient oaks

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. Please repost if you agree 🌳
