When only 27% of Physical Therapy "knee experts" recommendations involved any knee movement that's a problem.

Want to read the research? See the following: “Rather short episodes of immobilization or inactivity caused weakness, loss of power, loss of function and cellular changes in the body.” PMID: 36597123, PMID: 29266264, PMID: 25898161.

Short bouts of, "exercise snacking" can be effective to prevent loss of what you have or to even gain a bit of ground. Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? You don't have to go all gang-busters.

Exercise as a prescription? Absolutely! Effective, cost saving, and improves quality of life.

Physical Therapists working in Primary Care (still hard to find outside the VA) or interested in longevity can provide excellent testing and a "prescription" to increase quality of life and longevity.

My father was the 103rd person diagnosed with PPA and passed away in 2004. Raising awareness is fantastic - thank you! As a Physical Therapist I am currently working a patient with PPA. The personal connection has been helpful for both of us.

Massive biomolecular shifts occur in our 40s and 60s, Stanford Medicine researchers find Time marches on predictably, but biological aging is anything but constant, according to a new Stanford Medicine study.

If we are going through major bio-molecular changes in our 40's and 60's, why are we waiting to begin screening for geriatric syndromes, like falls, until after 65? What if we started in the 40's to develop plans and PREVENT later in life health problems?
