The pandemic began 6 years ago and we’ve already memory-holed the important fiscal lessons it taught us

The thing about Trump firing and replacing cabinet officials is that Trump sycophancy is inversely proportional to competency…so every time he replaces someone insufficiently loyal, he has to to do it with a more loyal but more incompetent person. So it’s a continuous downward spiral of competency
Trump is a moron who doesn’t read or know anything and just makes shit up on the fly
Yet these the huge follower anonymous accounts post what he says earnestly because they are rewarded financially for it. It’s a horrible incentive structure and makes people stupider
They also appropriated wokeness, redefined it, turned it into a pejorative and made it an existential reactionary threat to white people. If people like Rufo didn’t go searching undercover for corporate DEI programs, no one would have ever noticed that businesses hired 1-2 nonwhite people/nonmales
Every day, I talk to earnest liberals who describe to me, in great detail, problems that have resulted from this ... but they won't name the cause! "Turns out, all the sudden the public is obsessed with trans girls trying to play sports." Oh? Any thoughts about why? Any at all? No? No thoughts?
I know I've said this a trillion times but I have to say it periodically to keep from going insane:
The right ran a huge, well-funded, & ultimately successful campaign to completely take over political media & the infosphere more generally. This is by far the most important political development...
If you don’t think athletes or celebrities should opine on politics, what’s your rationale for anonymous assholes on the internet being able to?
There’s people on social media with a million followers that have a lot of influence and no one knows who the fuck they are or what their jobs are
Trump getting bailed out from the consequences of his own actions by countries he’s routinely screwed, threaten and insulted because functioning governments try to do what’s best for its people instead of a narrow subset of extremely wealthy people helping to keep you out of jail
The Trump Administration has done so many stupid things it’s hard to account for them all, but terminating all kinds of Federal support for renewable energy and green projects at the same time you’re bombing a country that pushes oil prices up has to be up there…
Eh he lost me at the last sentence. Spending $8 trillion in the Middle East has had nothing to do with groceries or housing. But he’s right that we should review our priorities - Spending that money on roads and bridges would’ve been A LOT more productive and societally beneficial
If you really cared about regime change in a hostile foreign country, you arm pro-democracy revolutionaries like a proper hegemonic superpower
If there aren’t any, stay the fuck out of there
Can we talk about how stupid and embarrassing Trump looks wearing a cheap white “Made in China” USA hat while announcing a war nobody wants and for which he made no case for to Congress or the American people?
Even if war with Iran were Constitutional, just and necessary, we still have largest collective of morons, hacks, sociopaths and unqualified cable news hosts and podcasters managing it. There is zero reason for optimism.
People who prove that they can’t be trusted with their right to vote…THREE TIMES NOW…have very strong opinions on who should be allowed to vote and how many hoops they should have to jump through to do it
Isn’t this the guy who wanted Bad Bunny investigated for being un-American?
Obama was definitely the more racially divisive president. After all he said that Trayvon Martin could have been his son
All Trump ever did was promise to end affordable housing in the suburbs so upper middle class white people wouldn’t have to deal with rampant crime
Otherwise they’d have been spending the last several years raising money and building brand awareness and subverting the system for this magical progressive 3rd party
I don’t vote for 3rd party candidates who emerge every 4 years like locusts to muck up general elections. If that person is serious, they would run as a Democrat for the primary in our 2 party system, think outside the box and do whatever is necessary to win…
As a progressive my theory for voting is to vote for the most progressive candidate available. If that person loses in a local, state or national primary, I’m disappointed but acknowledge that’s where the voters are. Then I vote for the most progressive candidates in the generals…
This is true. Grocery prices were a four alarm fire by the media during the Biden Administration- and Trump very literally ran on lowering grocery prices. He’s failed miserably and the media has failed miserably at making it a substantive issue.
Happy 7 year anniversary to this letter to the editor I wrote in 2019
Since then I’ve been proven entirely correct by the Covid mitigation and support spending
Also the Post-Gazette mercifully fired the awful Steve Kelley and his horrible cartoons

Clapping my flippers together and honking like a harbor seal when a Super Bowl ad for a condiment or gambling app featuring two celebrities unexpectedly reveals a third celebrity as its punchline. Bouncing a ball around on my snout. My wife has to throw me a herring to get me to calm down.
Remember Harriet Miers? The world would have been better off had she been confirmed to SCOTUS
If you say things like “I am the boot” or “I voted for the boot,” you’re a clinical sociopath and should remove yourself from society and check yourself into a psychiatric hospital immediately
NGL kinda proud of this one
If you’re still a member of the Trump Administration after what all’s happened in January, you’re either a pedophile, a pedophile protector or a white nationalist Nazi
lol - there’s a lot of movies that get spammed by haters for being too woke or too conservative or whatever but there’s usually enough IMDb ratings of people who legitimately liked a movie to push it up to 3 or 4 stars… that ain’t happening here. I guess because it was a $28 million bribe.
Rightists use this as a gotcha but honestly, I didn’t pay much attention to it because during the Obama years, immigration wasn’t a ginned up fearmongering fake crisis fabricated by Trump and his white nationalist Nazi handlers to exploit the undercurrent of bigotry in this country and win elections
