White Plains saw the temperature fall below 30F (-1.1C) this morning. The last time it got at least as cold this late in the season was April 23, 1982 when the low was 26F (-3.3C). The low of 28F (-2.2C) broke the daily record of 29F (-1.7C) from 1981. #nywx

Several cities experienced a March with a monthly mean temperature that matched or exceeded the April monthly mean temperature record.
#Phoenix concluded March with a March monthly record high minimum temperature of 76F (24.4C). March was, by far, Phoenix's warmest March on record. It would also rank as the 2nd warmest April #azwx
#Phoenix's high temperatures for March 2026 through March 28th. Today reached 96F (35.6C). Phoenix's 12th consecutive 95F (35.0C) or above reading surpasses the April mark of 11 consecutive days from April 20-30, 1934. #azwx
#Phoenix has reached 95F (35.0C). That ties the daily record that was set in 1986 and tied in 2015. #azwx
I erroneously posted a 106F (41.1C) reading for #Brownsville. Updated climate data shows that was a faulty reading. Apologies.
The following cities with 100-year or longer periods of record are headed for their warmest March on record, some by sizable margins. A more comprehensive list can be pulled from: sercc.com/climate-pers...
#Phoenix has a minimum temperature of 75F (23.9C). That is on track to beat its daily and March monthly record of 74F (23.3C) from 1986. #azwx

Excluding sharper cooling than shown on the guidance, the average March high temperature and monthly mean temperature in #Phoenix will rank second highest for any April. #azwx
The most extreme U.S. March heatwave on record is now nearing an end. For the first time in 9 days, #Phoenix stayed below 100F (37.8C). Nevertheless, additional records were set. Below are some March 2026 values that reached or exceeded April Monthly records during the #heatwave.
#Clayton, NM has reached 93F (33.9C). That sets a new March monthly record and also surpasses the April monthly record of 92F (33.3C) that was set on April 24, 2012. Records go back to 1896. #nmwx

Extreme March heat isn’t letting up, yet. It’s spreading. Abilene. El Paso. Indianapolis. Paducah set March records today. #Phoenix: 5 straight 100F (37.8C) days and #Tucson: 4 consecutive 100F (37.8C) days. This isn’t normal. #heat #heatwave
The word “unprecedented” gets thrown around a lot these days to describe the ongoing heatwave across the Western U.S., and let’s be honest — it’s absolutely justified. Perhaps the most impressive multi-day event since the 2021 PNW heat dome.
