Last weekend, I managed to grab a ticket to see Akira Yamaoka's last concert of his US tour. It was a blast seeing him perform and have a chance to chat a bit about Silent Hill 3!

I love the premise, but the tone is surprisingly cheery for a story centering around the Yakuza.

But something flipped near the tail end of vol. 2 and especially during this sequence. Showcasing an cold menace behind the smiles. Now this is more like it!

Lately, I've been diving more into romance comics and Yakuza Fiancé has been one of the focal points. The artwork from Asuka Konishi first caught my eye with her elegant line work, but the story has taken longer to get its hooks in me.

I'm a simple guy. If I love a film, I buy it on physical media and pop on the director's commentary ASAP.

General insights for anyone curious:

Urban Legends 3 has a kill that was so absurd it carried the whole film for me.

Before Sunrise is a whimsical flick that grew on me as the story went on. By the third act I was fully bought in.

This is one of the strangest double features I've attempted in a long time.
