“The group includes interpreters for the U.S. military, former members of the Afghan Special Operations forces and family members of American service members. More than 400 children are among them.”

An ugly fucking animal. Anyone who still supports him is sub-pond-scum *&$^&*.

“After halting a U.S. resettlement program for Afghans who helped the American war effort, President Trump is in talks to send as many as 1,100 of them to the Congo, an aid worker briefed on the plan said Tuesday.”

The Texas mentality has always been grab a simple story - good or bad, right or wrong, our people or those evil strangers.

That was so relentlessly pounded into everyone when I was growing up there, I doubt it has changed too much. That's their comfort zone.

Complexity scares the shit out of 'em.

It's disappointing that the party collectively doesn't have a more deep-seated revulsion against the rejection they were dealt by several million swing voters in 2024, enough to stay home or vote for someone known to be a crazed criminal. That should get someone's attention. No recycling old habits.

If it's just a big fashionista circle jerk, I'll catch it on cable sometime down the line.

Ironically the first movie made it clear how shallow and miserable all the "glamorous" people turned out to be. I doubt reality is much different.

CNBC won't mention the obvious: 99% of Trump's predictions are complete bullshit, which everyone knows but doesn't dare say because the Great Orange Leader said it.......

"Trump said he thinks the U.S. is “going to end up with a great deal” with Iran to end the weekslong war, CNBC reports.

That gets easier and easier with age, especially stuff that only got started after you reached a certain point in life.

You just have no interest in going back to catch up on a million trends and fads that don't sound that interesting to start with (or are clearly just ephemeral).

So if you're dumb enough to believe Trump ever honors his promises.....

President Trump told CNBC that he will gratefully “remember” U.S. companies that do not seek refunds for the tariffs he unilaterally imposed, which the Supreme Court later ruled were illegal.

So much sliding..

A new ARG poll finds just 32% of Americans say they approve of the way Trump is handling his job as president and 63% say they disapprove.

A new poll finds just 35% of U.S. adults approving of Trump’s job performance, with 61% disapproving — a net approval rating of -26.

People like Tucker Carlson, like MTG don’t deserve redemption or respect.

They were instrumental in driving the masses into a misogynistic and bigoted frenzy lurching this country towards fascism and creating vast social divides.

As Trump’s approval craters, they don’t get to wash that stain.

AMERICA LAST

Robert Pape: “The world is beginning to treat Iran not as a problem to be solved, but as a power to be reckoned with.”

“That distinction marks the emergence of something rare in international politics: a new center of world power.”

After the first round, mock drafts are almost perfect predictors of who your team will NOT pick. I can hardly remember a time in 50+ years when a later round player mocked to my team was actually drafted by them.

Like NCAA brackets, you can't know who is actually available or desirable later on.

We don’t launder Tucker Carlson’s reputation here.

He deserves to be viewed as a deplorable and avowed White Supremacist he always has been.

If anything, we use his “apology” video only a useful tool to share with Trump cultists still entrapped by the right wing propaganda as news ecosystem.

I don't usually care what vacuous crap people waste money on, but the hundreds of millions poured into this comic book tripe takes money away from everybody who might want to make and release real movies about real people and places.

You know, drama. The human condition.

Not rubber and spandex.

If I had a GM obsessed with paying under market rates and value shopping the whole roster instead of finding the best stars he could to win, I wouldn't keep him.

Fortune favors the bold. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.

Nothing is a guaranteed value or success.

Not even the Jones boys are dumb enough to burn the picks from Parsons trade to get the next Parsons, not when they can sit and wait to see which defender on their board falls out of the top 10 (oh yeah, like Parsons did, and CD Lamb, and....).

Destroying an entire region is not a commensurate response.....

“Gaza needs an estimated $71.4 billion over the next decade to recover from two years of war that devastated most of the Palestinian territory, a new study by the European Union, United Nations and World Bank shows.”

It seems to me that any government official who sues for defamation should be required to pay attorneys' fees x 3 plus costs if they drop the case, and x 5 if they lose.

This is the incredible irony in corporations taking over and wrecking broadcasting, both entertainment and news.

The audience for that product is literally disintegrating in front of their greedy, crazed little eyes. Who cares who runs CBS now?

It's all garbage. Toss it all out.

For the last 30 years, no one in Texas lost an election for being a huge redneck bigot. It sells down there.

That will continue until it doesn't. It may only be 55-60% of the voters, but that's enough to make it a certifiable Pogo problem.

These states will produce basically illiterate graduates as far as the world they live in. They'll only be fit to go to state schools in TX or FL where the curriculum is also limited.

The rest of the country will laugh and ignore them. How can you change a world you won't know about or understand?

So much AMERICA LAST today.....

“America’s allies, stung by soaring energy costs due to Washington’s attacks on Iran, are confronting an uncomfortable truth: The escape route from fossil fuel shocks leads straight into China’s arms,” Politico reports.
