Seattle’s civilian crisis responders are being illegally squeezed by a contract with the city’s largest police union, a complaint filed with the state on Thursday argues.
It's the most stressful time of the year (when I have seedlings getting too big for their pots but it's too cold to plant them outside)
I'm sure that's true
I'm not even sure you can separate how many times it's been "soaped." It appears to be in a continual state of soap.
Much of my social media consumption these days is baseball highlights, so the silver lining of last night's devastating M's loss is a healthier screen balance
I thought I was hardened against gas prices, but I saw $7.50 for diesel yesterday and did a double take www.seattletimes.com/business/loc...
Not sure what’s more satisfying, the Mariners looking competent or the Astros looking like absolute butt
The results of the weekend suggest... perhaps yes
Is that good?
Despite...everything... the city's economic forecast office is still recommending Seattle adopt a "baseline" approach to budgeting this year -- rather than a pessimistic one -- meaning the total funds available to the city right now is basically what it was near the end of last year
I think it captures really well what made the first 5 seasons of GOT good. And unlike the overly dark and torturous House of the Dragon, it has a great sense of humor.
I demand morality disclaimers at all times

In a touching 50th anniversary tribute to the 1976 team, the Mariners this year have decided to absolutely suck
The Seattle Council has added just under $70 million to Mayor Wilson's proposed library levy. There's a couple other more symbolic amendments, but the measure to face voters in August will be roughly $480 million.
I'm an extremely normie news consumer which means I think Maggie Haberman is very good www.nytimes.com/2026/04/07/u...
I would say "no" very quickly to the offer of being a daily beat reporter on a single team. I don't envy navigating the egos of team owners, management, players and, to a large extent, fans.
I have so many thoughts about sports reporting. I will say it's a shame both the Washington Post and NYT have pulled back (the Athletic is too fan-driven for my taste) because they had the freedom to write critically without worrying about pissing off a fan base or players, or losing access.
I don't think my brain could handle seeing what those astronauts are seeing. A 53-minute solar eclipse?? Wow
The camera work on Mariners TV needs a bit of work
This whole piece is obviously tongue in cheek. Not everything requires a rage post
Thank you!
As a side note, got to spend some time in the city archives today which is just so strangely enjoyable
Wilson’s being “This is your city”
I did not realize that Charlie Royer, whom Mayor Wilson pointed to as an example of an executive who came into office without previous elected experience, had essentially the same tag line as her
I really think it's that they're all from warm weather places and there's nothing so miserable as being outside in Seattle in April. They're all gonna go on heaters during this road trip.
Late last year, the city had a draft agreement to bring in the National Guard for cybersecurity help — but backed out at the last minute over concerns about giving the military backdoor access to city data

He’d have made more in arbitration than $95M?
Sincere question from someone who’s happy they did this: considering the Mariners had like 6 years control over him — 7 if he doesn’t crack the majors this year — why would they feel the need to do this?
