1px and 2px are great for inducing papercuts :D

not the same thing, but yes looking forward to corner-shape!
love project wallace!

so done with rounded corners.
give me pointy corners. give me razor-sharp "wear a glove before you press it" corners.
hehe position:sticky note.

8/10 pretty good, with decent battery life (10-12 hours / 200 songs). my only complaint is that it feels much heavier than my phone

this is coincidentally one of the things i love about my DAP.
i replaced the stock interface the moment i got it :D
ha ha, yes. *sickos.avif*
i've been complaining about tidal's UI, and i kept thinking we need to bring back winamp-like skins
ah yes, the post-cascade step.
i love that you understand literally the deepest quirks of the spec but still have been caught by this.
deepPink, right?
inheritance is probably the weakest thing in the cascade
Screenshot of tidal's bottom bar, playing the track "Salva" by Karnivool. The entire thing has a frosted glass background, revealing white colors from behind. The artist name and icons are really dimmed and barely visible.
one of the recent changes they made is this frosted glass effect, which does wonderful things for legibility.
it's a classic! 🙌
is it AI slop or just your garden variety react native jank? who's to say 🤷
Screenshot of tidal's mobile homepage, showing two columns of tiny cards, all of them using the media object layout. Because of the small width, the labels are truncated. Because of the small height, the sublabels (artist names) are clipped by the bottom edge. Things are also generally misaligned and visually unbalanced.
tidal keeps updating their UI seemingly every other day, and yet large parts of it remain untouched and broken.
so many design issues just in this one little screenshot.
I’ve been doing design+webdev for over 10 years and I have deep expertise building and implementing design systems.
if you’re looking for a design/dev hybrid to take polish and product thinking to the next level, let’s chat: ky.fyi
love that for you. good luck! (it's extra rough out here)
my planet? silent.
i haven't been inside a car in multiple years. highly recommend.
i would wait to see it in practice before i really form an opinion, but my gut says bots will find ways around it. they always do. while worsening the experience for humans (who might be on old/weird devices)

🎯 it's the main reason i stopped writing.
too much good stuff is locked behind login (or worse, behind app stores).
a few years ago, i would shake my head furiously. today, i still do that, but at the same time i get it because of all these fucking bots :/
this is literally one of my life goals.
might need to do it part time at first

the golden age of CVEs
Visual representation of my music listening history on a dark grainy background. The top artists are: ERRA, Halestorm, Sordid Pink, Opeth, and Gojira, all shown in different colors on top of their circular avatars scattered somewhat chaotically on the screen. The top albums are: Silence Outlives The Earth by ERRA, Sordid Pink by Sordid Pink, Sorceress by Opeth, Everest by Halestorm, and An Undying Love for a Burning World by Neurosis, each shown with their cover and varying degrees of rotation applied.
just pushed up my March 2026 music snapshot to obsessions.mayank.co 👀
that looks like a perfectly cromulent button, which i shall click. wait, fuck!

i really appreciate the other topics. it makes the video game stuff better and more… human.
the article about digital audio players is what got me into this hobby! aftermath.site/digita-audio...
