Actress Joan Crawford — in character, dressed in a black dress with white lace collar and cuffs designed by Adrian — captured standing in profile while leaning inside a curtained doorway, face turned to the camera as she glances to the right and hitches up her skirt with her right hand, in a sultry full-length black-and-white shot for Grand Hotel (1932)

This week marks the 75th anniversary of the release of I WAS A MALE WAR BRIDE, directed by Howard Hawks and starting Cary Grant and Ann Sheridan.

Tomorrow is Cary Grant day on TCM and I don't know if I can handle that much charm in a 24-hour period.
Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant in a publicity photo for Notorious (1946)
Just watched "To Catch a Thief", one of those films that have been in my "ashamed I haven't watched them yet"-list for way too long.
It's the best Catwoman film ever and who knew that Cary Grant would be born to play her?

And Carrie Fisher had no idea what was going on, & Cary Grant had no idea how to do drug counselling, so when Cary Grant called she was just, like, "oh, wow, it's Cary Grant!" & he was, like, "Well, hello, Carrie, how are you? How's everything?" so it was a pleasant interaction but no help re: drugs
Also I know as a Star Wars fan you have read the bit in Carrie Fisher's memoirs where her Mom was worried about her drug use so she (Debbie Reynolds) asked Cary Grant to have a word with her (Carrie Fisher) because she (Debbie Reynolds) knew he had tried LSD so he counted as a drug expert.
Is Notorious Cary Grant as his most devastatingly handsome? Like, this shot of him on a horse while setting up also gorgeous Ingrid Bergman up for state sponsered prostitution .. .
Ingrid Bergman, 1958
Love this vintage photo of Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant in front of Tower Bridge. Sadly, photographer unknown, but likely to have been taken as a publicity shot for ‘Indiscreet’, filmed at Elstree Studios & on location in London on/near the river Thames in 1958.
Thanks to TCM (rem when they tried to kill TCM?!!), today I learned that my beloved GASLIGHT w Ingrid Bergman is a remake. #nw GASLIGHT (1940) by Thorold Dickinson. Based on a play. This is why I can never be too upset about remakes. They've always been done.
