I had to schedule a regular appointment with my internal medicine doc. I sent photos for consideration, and they were like, those are just moles, completely bypassing my request for a full-body scan. I hate my insurance and the hoops I gotta jump through to be a responsible adult.

Right? I sent them a message that was like, hey, I'm fair-skinned, my parents have both had brushes with skin cancer, I haven't had a full-body check in a while, and would like a preventative visit. They responded by saying send us photos and your doctor will decide if you need a referral. ๐
Sigh. I'm like, hey, I'm taking preventative measures, and y'all are making that more difficult than it needs to be. Good luck with your doc. Fingers crossed for us both!
Get yourself a partner who will position you strategically under your apartment skylight to take pictures of moles to submit to your doctor, because they won't schedule an appointment for a routine skin/mole check without proof you need one. ๐ for my love, ๐ for my doctor's office.
I do the same exact thing!
Day 2! We're tired, but we're rallying. Let's go!!!!
I was just in the bathroom at Disneyland, a toddler was singing "Let It Go" in there, and let me tell you, it was oddly encouraging.
Disney, it's been a while, but we're comin' for ya!
We're on vacation, baby!
So, when we decided to move to Echo Park, the romantic in me could not wait to have a lunchtime picnic by the lake. And today, we did that! Definitely making this a regular thing. โฅ๏ธ
This really would suit you.
If you want to support an author but don't want to spend any money, ask your local library to stock their book! Most libraries have an online form you can fill out to request a title.
If your library already has their book, check it out! Good circulation numbers will tempt them to buy again.
Comedy show with my folks! Will Burkhart is a funny dude, and two cheers for chicken tenders and espresso martinis. ๐ธ
Cacti blooms and palo verde branches. ๐
So, we ate salmon and chocolate cake, sat out under the stars, drank wine, and played Farkle. And now I'm decompressing with a face mask and an audiobook. Not bad for night one, eh?
Just arrived in Arizona to visit my family, and we're all drinking wine, gathered around the TV, watching the Artemis II splashdown. ๐ฅฐ
Echo Park Lake is such a gift. (And it's gosling season!)
just to be clear, everyone, when 8 pm EDT comes and goes, regardless of what does or does not happen, the president still threatened genocide and war crimes and we should still impeach, arrest, and try him
In all seriousness, one thing that might be worth doing today:
Tell your Reps and Senators to call Adm. Richard Correll, the Commander of U.S. Strategic Command, which controls the nation's nukes, and remind him of *his* unique responsibility to refuse an illegal order.
It was the worst of times, it was the worst of times.
May you be blessed as you enter your crone era! My grey hairs have a completely different texture than the rest of my hair, and I cherish those little unruly bastards. They don't GAF, and I love that about them.
I'm thrilled to share that my poem "False Prophet" will appear in the StokerCon Souvenir Anthology! I'm honored my poem will appear in the antho, and big ups to the editor, Danielle Ackley-McPhail, for saying yes, let's give that piece a platform, to a poem that is unapologetically feminist. ๐๐
Everything I read in March:

Three Days in the Pink Tower by EV Knight
Immortal Dark by Tigest Girma
Tradwife by TC Parker
Bed Rot Baby by Wendy Dalrymple
We Came from an Island by Cynthia Pelayo
There's gotta be a German word for this, yeah?
I started with chocolate eggs yesterday. Cheers!
Seated. Bring on the spam!
Fit check for the theatre tonight! On our way to see Monty Python's Spamalot, which feels extremely apropos for April Fool's Day.
I just watched the Artemis II launch, and that was pretty fucking cool. Yay science!
Um, that sounds delicious!
