I gave the Video Memory Tester made by @necroware.bsky.social a try today, and here are my results!
Super useful and awesome to be able to add it to the toolchest!
Give it a try!
(Side note: I confirmed it works on PCIe cards 😄)

The music in my videos are tracks explicitly made for my channel by Sasha. Now I'm happy to announce that he makes them publicly available. If you enjoy his work, feel free to sponsor him a coffee buying the tracks you like. More tracks will follow under:

RIP Ozzy 😢🤘🦇
I usually like Lenovo notebooks, but in this case I was massively disappointed to be honest:

Hey guys, sorry for the long pause. I have a lot of work, so the hobby has to step back a little bit. Nonetheless I found some time to tinker and was able to repair some nice sound cards. I also found why the SoftMPU didn't work on the Sound Galaxy Basic 16 from my last video.

In case you missed my last video, this is a great soundcard for a dos gaming pc.

Unfortunately the collection of weapons is also huge, which shows once again, that we invest much more effort into killing each other than into anything else :(
Oxford has a great museum of natural history. And also the attached Pitt Rivers museum with a great collection of cultural items is mind blowing. You need multiple days to see everything properly.
You can find there nearly everything a retro heart can dream of. Amazing place, amazing people, amazing collection. And everything can be really used, it's not only to look at. Beautiful.
Finally been there. Big thank you to @retrocollective.co.uk for the great job making it possible to enjoy an absolutely amazing collection. Special thanks to Holly for the nice chat and her hospitality.
The right one is the very same looking case as the first PC which I got. Unfortunately the case rotted away long ago, but I still have the content sitting right next to me under a glass dome.

Yay! :)
Decided to share some SMD soldering experience adding a CPU socket. And of course I didn't stop there ;)

I watched it, thank you for your work. Unfortunately it looks like the interest in this topic decreases. I also see dropping numbers and I think this is due to the (geo-) political situation. Many feel insecure and in such situations, the first thing which has to step back is the hobby.
Oh, probably worth mentioning is that this was a comment to one of my S7-VRM project videos. Regulating 3V at 13A with resistors? It has to be a joke.

Sometimes I'm confused by such comments. Is it a joke? Am I just too stupid to understand sarcasm?
Not quite, it's about the retro web and its ancestor which was also used to generate TH99. Many people think, that the retro web was based on TH99, but that wasn't the case.
Same here, I change a cap if I have a clear suspicion, that this cap is bad.

As a volunteer in the last three years I saw what a war means with my own eyes. I already was on the edge of depression all the time and now this. The world is seriously sick. My small retro hobby is the only thing which helps me to stay somewhat sane. So it is a good idea to go into the basement.
By the way, there is a rev.2 which has a solder jumper for Motorola/Intel selection. But the same can be made with a solder bridge between pin 1 and 20 on older revisions too.
Glad it came useful.
