Sure seems like there's a market niche for "Amazon, but only brands you've heard of and reviews you can trust".

"a small country that is literally still at war with the US after the US unliterally invaded"

Is this a reference to the Korean War, where the force that the United States was fighting as a part of was the United Nations?

Only if you step on it later.

This is yet another example of the institutionalized racism that is accepted when it's directed towards the Welsh.

Anyway, it is is not racist to say that the DPRK is an authoritarian regime where state censorship, control of citizen movement and a culture of fear creates a level of repression in North Korean unimaginably more severe than that in the United States.

"DPRK's state censorship... is also largely ineffective as people just do what people all around the world do and trade HDDs with massive amounts of media on them."

I and most of the people around the world get their media through the Internet and don't need to clandestinely trade physical storage.

‘A clear setback’: More drivers speeding in Ottawa with photo radar gone, city says - Ottawa | Globalnews.ca The City of Ottawa says more drivers are speeding in school zones five months after the Ontario government shut off automated speed enforcement (ASE) cameras.

Three months after Ottawa removed its automatic safety cameras, the share of drivers following the speed limit plunged from 87% to 41%(!). "High-end speeding" is up 10x.

Automatic enforcement saves lives. If you remove it, people will die.

Hochul should offer the trial lawyers a deal where she gets tort reform and they get their helicopter noise bill which is almost definitely preempted by Federal law.

Hassett's cover of John Lennon's "Imagine" needs tweaking

Imagine there's no inflation
It's easy if you're Hassett
No strait to block us
Above us, only missiles
Imagine all the soldiers
Dyin' for today
Ah
Imagine there's no Iran
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
Except to glorify Trump

Well, who were renegotiated those contracts?

Well, who negotiated those contracts? Sounds like the MTA failed.

Committing fraud to get paid when not working is a right that LIRR unions fought for and won, and the MTA cannot unilaterally take away this right that LIRR workers have had for decades.

It is a sancrosanct, bedrock labor right, just like seniority, just cause, pension fraud and disability fraud.

Jesus's message on building standards was clear.

Matthew 28:19-20:
¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations (United States),
²⁰ teaching them (Americans) to obey everything International Building Code has commanded you.

Has anyone asked the Pope what he thinks about land use? Is the Pope weak on building codes? Does Pope Leo believe you can have a single stair to heaven?

Bill 21? Whatever. Up to Québec.
Bill 96? Whatever. Up to Québec.
Referendum? Whatever. Up to Québec.

It's as if it's rude to say some things Québec does can be bad—and as if it's rude to say Canada is a good thing.

Even La Presse frequently ran stories during the mayoral election last year about how French was in decline or in the minority in Montréal in a variety of contexts—which often was only true because of things like not counting "French and another language" or "French and English" as French.

My favourite is that while the stated concern of the CAQ, PQ and Quebecor is that French be the common language of public life, their statistical bête noire lately has been the number of households where a language other than French is spoken *at home* in Montréal.

There are genuinely a lot of people who can walk 500 ft. but not 2,000 ft., and that’s who the advocates of close stop spacing think they’re helping. But because of distance *to* the arterial, they’re actually helping people who can walk 2,000 ft. but not 3,000, and that’s much fewer people.
