An easy game that you can do is- TREAT TRAILS! Use anything on the environment to make trails of treats to engage your dog and spice up your dog walks.

Last year, I noticed that Spark had trouble settling and eating all of his food; he would eat a bit and then simply walk away. So I sat next to him and he ate all of his food.

Spark’s a senior at 14.5 yo, he needs the comfort & security of me near him as he eats. It helps him feel less vulnerable.

If you can’t go out for long walks, how do you provide enrichment for your dog in extreme cold weather conditions?

Does anyone else feel absolutely exhausted from the chaos of the world right now?

Oh no! Biggest of hugs. I know how much this hurts.

Today, Boon and I saw a lot of triggers- so what did I do? 🤔

1️⃣ I managed the situation to reduce his stress levels.
2️⃣ I moved away to where he wouldn’t react.
3️⃣ I helped him decompress with a scatter feed.

And mostly importantly, I helped him feel safe by comforting him.

How to help?

Have several water stations around your home, use cat water fountains to increase your cat’s water drinking as it is moving water, and use wide, ceramic, glass, or stainless steel water bowls NOT plastic ones.

2/3 💧You need to clean the water bowl OR the water bowl is plastic and harbours bacteria making the water taste stale, so your cat doesn’t like the taste,

🐈 Perhaps the water bowl is too small and your cat is getting whisker fatigue and feels uncomfortable with their whiskers touching the bowl,

1/3 Cats often prefer to drink water from taps for several reasons:

🐈 Cats evolved to only drink moving, not STANDING, water to prevent getting sick,

💧Your cat might not like where their water bowl is located,

🐈 Another cat could be bullying & preventing the cat from accessing their water bowls,

“I fits, I sits.”
