How to plan your route to avoid bad weather? – Weather on the Way App Tutorial
www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnOh...
To try this new feature, simply update to the latest app version, tap the circular button with curvy route line (bottom left of screen) and drag the slider on your route map.
Why it matters:
• Spot storms forming near your path, even if they’re not on it yet
• Understand how delays or detours could change your exposure to weather risks
• Get a clearer picture of rain or wind around your route, not just directly on it
By default, the app shows the weather radar for your planned departure time. But weather changes and so can your plans.
With the slider, you can now scroll forward in time to preview the predicted radar and wind patterns along your entire route, even if you haven’t left yet.
New update! Version 2.2.0: Stay Ahead of the Storm With Our New Forecast Slider
Wondering if that storm on your map is happening now, or waiting for you down the road?
Forecast Slider equips you with the full picture, so you can preview the predicted radar at any point in your journey.
New app from @weatherontheway.app team – Peak Weather: mountain weather forecast by elevation. Plan your hikes and keep ahead of the weather!
Next up: we're working on expanding coverage to more states and improving our winter road condition reports. More on that soon.
Just pushed version 2.1.0 with our most-requested winter feature - live chain requirement tracking for the Western United States.
Supported across CA, OR, WA, NV, WY, UT and CO. We pull data directly from state DOTs to show you exactly where chains are required along your route.

A snow squall is a brief period of heavy snowfall with reduced winds & low visibility.

NEW WEATHER ADVISORY: Special Weather Statement
Patchy dense fog with near zero visibility in places will continue through the rest of the morning in the Moses Lake Area. Fog is particularly dense along State Route 17 between Othello and Moses Lake.... See more: watchedsky.social/app/alerts/...
Apple Weather:
We render our future radar forecast with Metal shaders and advance machine learning techniques for much smoother and high resolution visualisation. Here is an example vs Apple Weather.
Ours:
It’s definitely on the list for the future
That’s true, not at the moment
There is and it’s us!
That’s exactly what we do :)
We have recently refreshed our US interstate web pages, for example here is one for I-80: weatherontheway.app/us-interstat... What other info would be useful there?
Have you used Weather on the Way’s live activities? Were they useful?
It’s available on iPhones and iPads, and we support CarPlay. We have also recently launched version 2.0 that adds weather on top of any other navigation app thanks to Dynamic Island
It can be used to plan your trip, pick the best time to leave and route to take and avoid running into nasty weather on route.
It takes into account the time it takes to travel to points along the route and provides weather, predicted storms, alerts, road surface conditions and more.
What Werther on the Way is about? We like road trips so we built an #iOS app that gets us the forecast of the weather along the route.
Hello everyone! Good to be here
