"The research reveals the unique complexities of being an American Jewish teen," said Kelman. “Jewish teens who feel being Jewish is important to them show high levels of wellbeing, but those same teens are also highly sensitive to the challenges of antisemitism."
The research found that teens' Jewish identity heightens their awareness of—and stress about —the tensions of our times. The national survey was conducted in Spring 2024 and reflects responses from nearly 2,500 Jewish teens in 49 states, plus Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.
A team of researchers led by Stanford Jewish Studies professor Ari Y Kelman released findings from a groundbreaking study of American Jewish teens.

Rebecca will build on her research at the Taube Center to challenge narratives of Holocaust exceptionalism, write North African Jews and Muslims into the history and memory of Nazi antisemitism, and give voice to populations simultaneously suffering from fascist and colonial racial oppression.

Good news! Our recent Reinhard Postdoctoral Fellow in Jewish Studies, Rebecca Glasberg, will be joining the Holocaust Research Institute (HRI) at Royal Holloway, University of London as a postdoctoral researcher for the major donor-funded project “Global Jewish Studies in/as Holocaust Studies.”
