if you ever find a really, really, really fucked up Library, please let me know
I just want to say that @cascadecascade.com is the kind of project the community always asks for and then wonders why it goes away.
Great writing takes financial support. If you want less shitty content in the world, get a subscription. It's like getting 20 Patreons for the price of one.
styrofoam is a blatant sin upon the earth
There's a lot to digest in this video, but I especially like the breakdown of the piece's composition, showing how every detail was carefully laid out to direct the eye.
I remember first learning about these techniques in art class, and how exciting it felt to See a language hidden in plain sight.
Mox Amber is a quiet image painted with meticulous detail – perhaps too much detail for a tiny trading card. Who would commit to such monotony, knowing it would never be seen at scale?

so cool. thank you for watching, and for responding. i keep coming back to dominaria 2018 because of all these tiny narrative / worldbuilding tie-ins.
it just keeps coming back to the lord of the rings. texts from @dansheehan.bsky.social

i speculate about why amber was chosen for this mox, but if you have any recollection / insights from that push, i'd love to hear. your name came up in winters' writeup and i suspect you chose amber for this art description.
quandrix is <3

jay's work remains equal parts insightful and fundamental academic resource for all future research. i just love the way he writes.

awesome. thank you for the rec, i will watch it later tonight.
even this image can be explained with this image.
everything comes back to this image. everything.
i think this is the feeling when you're new, and then you go through a period of optimizing (which is really fun in its own way) because you see the intricacies of the game and its systems, and then after a while you go back to the beginning of "i like this card so i'm gonna play it"
in general, i think we need more cards that say "don't play this, seriously, don't do this"
the crushing power of inertia
imagine enduring ideal into barren glory and slowly figuring out the rest over like 8 turns. i wanted to create a sense that emptiness and desolation is an invisible, immobile, yet destructive force.
this was the soundscape

i made a high-concept edh deck a few years ago about a desolate continent frozen in ice, where the literal cold would slowly kill you, and the only creature in it was jokulmorder
the excuse is that you get to play this
I occasionally get disparaged falling off positive habits (exercising, reading) but we get endless restarts. "Blah, blah, discipline, routine" just try again whenever. The next day, the same day, fuck it
new vid is just about done. very happy with it.
not to be dramatic, but if scorsese grew up in 2000's suburbia, goodfellas would've been about halo lan parties
