Artwork by Deidre Robb. I read, listened, and watched to learn more about peace while making this work. Peace is not a simple thing. What some people experience as a time of peace, others will know as a time of oppression, persecution, or exploitation. History warns us to beware of the uneasy faux peace that is devoid of truth, reconciliation, justice, freedom, or healing. I wish for a world in which all people can feel safe in their daily lives. It is beyond my powers to bring peace to the world, but I can try to find peace within myself and live peacefully with others. This work is constructed using gentle textiles used to care for wounds (gauze swabs) combined with embellishments used in celebrations.

We've always been 'primary caregivers' of different parts of our gardens. No arguments and we get to go and admire each other's work.
And the storm damage did us a favour. We now have new, safe wiring everywhere. It just cost a lot!

My partner did some sneaky planting in my part of the garden. Last week we had to cancel our trip north to see wildflowers due to storm damage to our house, but now our own garden is looking extra special.

Yeah, I know. My bung ears are controlling my life. Once the weather is fine enough for me to stand outside at exhibition openings, I'll get out more.

I had an art night out in Perth with a friend I hadn't seen for too long.

I bumped into so many people, heard an excellent art panel discussion, saw a fabulous exhibition, had some dog love, and bought my partner a present. Now I'm listening to music on the train home and trying not to whistle.

Thank you. I was based in Carnamah and hosted by an organisation called the North Midlands Project. They arranged for me to present workshops there as well as in Perenjori, Mingenew, Moora, and Coorow.
