I am normally an extraordinarily punctual person. I have to put effort into being fashionably late.
Which is what I did tonight. My goal was to arrive 15–30 minute late because I know that’s what normal people do.
Except.
I arrived 24 hours and 30 minutes late.
So.
I felt silly.

Well there was at least ONE clown at Trump’s birthday party.
I think there were more people at the rally in Sequim than there were at his birthday bonanza.
I think we do in this context. 🤷🏼♀️
I’m seeing it all over social media, and have had some conversations about it, too.
They will rue the day they united the western seaboard.
When you’ve got Seattle cheering for LA you know you’ve done fucked up.
Why yes I WILL be speaking at Tommy’s book release this Friday night.
I am ✨stoked✨. Also still working on my speech. 🤷🏼♀️ But STOKED.

Come on out in August, I’ll take you to kelp beds.
Um on a different part of the internet I posted this photo with (what I thought was a) a bold-faced lie about watering the kelp beds so they bloom later in the summer and I think the people of the internet might trust me way too much.
Potato.
Between my two Threads accounts, I have 2 posts that are getting—uh—more attention than usual.
One of them is fun. The other is not.
People are great and also jerks.
Happy Leland Melvin Day, to all who celebrate.
I’m finding it helps a little if I read quotes from Trump in the voice of Mitch Hedberg.
Of course then I get sad that it works so damn well. But at least I get a chuckle first. 🤷🏼♀️
Kinda nice to live through a historic moment that feels hopeful for a change.
Survived a whole-ass hockey tournament this weekend.
4 games in 72 hours.
Two ties, two losses, 4th place in our group, and a hell of a lot of fun.
Team photo from Andy Glass, local hockey photographer!
Ran out of snacks that presently sound good. ☹️
Fellowship of the Rink requests your presence to come cheer us on at Puck Place Market this weekend.
🚨 OK THE DATES IN THE GRAPHIC ARE WRONG. But the days/times are correct. It should be Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30.
My friend Cassie perfectly captured what it’s like for strangers to meet Mabel.
Cassie looked at her too long. Which is SUSPICIOUS.
Eco blocks are a great way to say “We don’t want poor people to use this space so now NOBODY CAN USE IT.”
A man just sent me a cold sales email that made it VERY CLEAR that he had perused my LinkedIn profile and that just took me from irrational anger to rational WTF DUDE.
This is all I have to offer today.
Hey remember 5 years ago this week?
My body sure kept score of it.
Less than 24 hours until Women on the Water III, our 3rd annual International Women’s Day paddle out.
1. You’re invited.
2. Check out image 4 for some ways we still need support for the event.

Cold sales email make me irrationally angry.
Also we were hella poor but my dad built all kinds of shit from used stuff—a recording studio, two observatories + the telescopes in them, a film developing station…
He only ever wanted my help when fiberglass insulation was involved, or when he needed little hands, and I understand it now.
I used to get excited when my dad asked me to help with projects—like building recording studio we had at our house.
In adulthood, it became apparent to me he just wanted someone else to reach through the fiberglass insulation to run wires.
That’s what I think of when I see Elon with his son.
Four months of Mabel + her second birthday-on-paper = a trip to the beach, picking out a toy at the store, and some doggy ice cream today.
Maybe we should call it Autism Spectrum Order rather than *disorder* because as an autistic person lemme tell you about how a lot of us are extraordinarily gifted at bringing order to things.
I spent most of my life believing that I hated toast when really I just hated toast that was toasted in a toaster.
