🚨 A Swiss-made material meant for cigarette filters is ending up in Russia’s weapons production.
#Cerdia sold $7.3M worth of cellulose acetate to Russia in 2022-2025, according to Trap Aggressor.
While marketed for cigarette filters, cellulose acetate is also used in gunpowder and rocket fuel.
This decree highlights the risk of corporate complicity in breaches of international law, as well as material risks for foreign firms and their shareholders. The only mitigation strategy is to #exitRussia.
The head of Russia’s Ryazan region signed a decree requiring local enterprises to carry out “tasks to recruit candidates for military service under contract.”
In Ryazan, Western hypermarket chains remain active, including French retailers Auchan and Leroy Merlin, and German firms METRO and GLOBUS.
